I'm download Thunderbird 68.2.2 from official site, run application and install new icons to profile an all worked fine.
Maybe you paste folder "icons" and file "userChrome.css" to another profile
Also check your profile path this need contained folder "chrome" and portable Thunderbird have another suffix for profile name. For example, my profile path and name on Thunderbird 68.2.2:
~/.thunderbird/tay7cwof.default-release/chrome/

You really have time support 26 Plasma Themes & 27 GTK Themes.
I think it's impossible support more 50 themes.
Why your Gtihub page without commits and changelogs?
You designer or uploader?
I can too upload +100500 variation my Plasma theme, like as Materia ArchLinux, Materia KaOS, Materia Fedora or Arc Dark RED, Arc Dark Green and etc... But i'm not doing this.
