The main problem I had was not using the [Window] section. Had been using [WindowTranslucent] only (with translucent_windows set) but this caused Qt only apps like qBittorrent to glitch badly. For my BlackGlass theme, which I want to be translucent, needed to add qBittorrent to the 'opaque=' list anyway. Seems the headings in ListViews are the issue - https://streamable.com/f5h56a

Sol doesn't come with its own global icon theme, you need to install one. I used NsCDE but you're right, its coverage ain't good. Was thinking of completing an icon theme but haven't done it yet.

Firefox isn't a Qt app so not sure what's going on there. Sounds like it inherits desktop colors. Maybe post a screenshot for me?

Crashing apps - odd, not had that happen before. Try running these apps from a terminal and looking at the output for clues. Its most likely related to using Kvantum theme engine so you might need to try re-installing that, perhaps building from source depending on your distro. - Feb 26 2024

In your screenshot on the left-hand theme, the titlebar matches the center graphic (normally drawn behind window contents). As you increase button size (and therefore titlebar height), the center graphic is stretched up and shown above the window contents. In most of my themes, I use differing titlebar and backgrounds. Aurorae doesn't allow me to dynamically change titlebar height depending on button size. - Jan 26 2024

This has annoyed me for ages. It works here but was a problem with earlier versions of Plasma. The button should be drawn on top of the graphic but was sometimes drawn behind it. My version is 5.27.10 / 5.113.0. - Jan 19 2024

And to actually answer this, the Aurorae elements use the usual 'class=ColorScheme-*' but whether by design or not, Aurorae follows the 'colors' file in the desktoptheme if it exists. In this particular case, titlebar color is View -> Hover. - Dec 04 2023

No, dropped any idea of that. Both Commonality and Reactionary supported colorschemes but almost no-one used them. I think people just look at the picture on 'Add New...' and click on install so now I'll post separate colours as complete themes. Its adds to the spam but I notice the site's filled with lots of spam anyway. - Dec 04 2023

Will post the update to this in a day or two. I've actually just spent time removing my 'fake colorscheme' effect that was going to allow me to post versions in e.g. Solaris Pink, Metal Grey etc. But the new version might allow me to just 'sed' all the colours to generate alternatives. Thanks. They both show correctly here so I wonder which Plasma version you're running. This used to be a problem in earlier versions of Plasma - the menu graphic would be shown behind some icons but in front of others. Also, the network icon is purple and 'Night Color Control' icon is missing. - Nov 13 2023
