Version 1.3 is a final version. I will no longer work at this theme, since people apparently complain about yet another grey theme, or do not like it, when things are not as they are supposed to be. This theme ( because of compatibility) is full of additional compromises that it no longer represents the original concept. And frankly no one seems interested. - Dec 27 2020

I'll wait for manjaro to update. Still, I am disappointed that XFCE 4.16 still uses a really outdated windowmanager, that still requires thick borders for a decent resize-grip-area. A real bummer... Still, let's hope that something has been done about it. - Dec 26 2020

Good, just need a distro that ships this 4.16 and a gtk.css file with the new code. I was hoping that there would be no xfwm4- window- decorator. But it seems not to be the case. I really hate the old style xfwm4- theming. - Dec 26 2020

I've made Desert and Forest-Dawn. Isn't that color enough? This theme, if you care to read the description, is meant to be dull, blunt, easy on the eyes. A theme that is there, but do not notice. So, yes dull grey it is. - Dec 26 2020

Well, the checkboxes on menus and such are deliberately 'light'. If it was up to me, I would do away with the background entirely. But that would be a problem, certainly with the radio-buttons. So this is sort of a compromise. I would have hoped for users to understand this. - Dec 25 2020

Well, At least you made the effort to critically look at this theme. Thank You!
About the tabs: I deliberately made the tabs on preference-panes to look like the buttons on the menubar. As I do feel a 'button'-approach in preferences-windows look more appropriate than traditional tabs. On a canvas (like tabs on the gedit, or nautilus) the traditional way of showing tabs is active.

So, this is personal 'design'-decision.

The caret (outline) is not actively supported in my themes. So, yes, highlighting is not available. - Dec 22 2020

The problem is that button sometimes are grouped differently according to the window. In your image, you see the middle-button having straight corners and the other buttons on the outside have corners at the outside. This is all fine, accept, some people want their buttons on the left-side, so the buttons all all in the wrong shape... - Dec 07 2020

bullets and check-boxes > Well, they are designed to be minimal. I would preferably use only check-boxes without any background (as it is on mac os), but this is not advisable in gnome. So bullets and check-boxes have a very light background intentionally as a sort of compromise..
The Pinta app uses GTK2, this is not provided with this theme (Prof-gnome has GTK2)
Unfortunately, flatpak, snaps do not follow themes properly. This is a well known issue...

Gimp 2.99 is gtk3 and it fetches the dark theme of the theme you set. It looks marvelous too. The gnome shells of the solid versions are the same as for the normal. That is still on the todo list... - Dec 01 2020

Cameo is build on an entirely different code, with gradual scaling in mind. But It has some issues with 4K resolutions.

To prevent that this theme works with more fixed distances between widgets, instead of relative distances (like Cameo) - Nov 30 2020
