Hey XenoPL sorry it took me so long. I just published v1.5 which now includes this as an option. Are you coming from BSD? Usually most Linux distros will not allow you to create a mixed case username. I personally also discourage this. But it's there now for whoever really needs it since it would just not work for these cases before. - Feb 01 2020

For now I don't allow such customizations because they can mess up everything layout-wise. I realize that you don't want any padding though, what you really want is to increase the width of the form field region (possibly on an ultra-wide?). I could not reproduce this fix the way you mention it. I actually released v1.5 which will now take the username instead of real name in the dropdown. This will prevent such issues. Thank you for the comment! - Feb 01 2020

For now there is no option to customize the KDE Plasma lock screen with themes. This means that any custom change needs to be changed in the source files, which would get overwritten instantly at update time (which is quite often in KDE). Sorry. You might want to push for this feature to the KDE design team if this is important to you. - Nov 12 2019

David, it took me some time to actually be able to reproduce this, and for me it only happened with mixed hour format. But actually I just tried to reproduce it again and can not force it anymore? It may have been a bug with KDE that got fixed rather? Is this still true for you? - Oct 13 2019

I'm not sure if I understand you well. I think you got two desires: Have your custom changes to theme.conf stick when I push an update. This is easily accomplished by cloning the theme.conf to a copy called theme.conf.user and change things there. I will mention this in the README.
The second one I assume is you would like to be able to quickly switch your made layouts. This is not possible by design of how SDDM works and is integrated into distros. I would love such an option too but it's not my responsibility as a theme creator. It would call a complete program. I can only adhere to what is available by design.
That said you could create various copies of theme.conf and name them accordingly. Like centered-fullblur.conf or right-to-left.conf and then when you feel like changing back up the original theme.conf and rename one of those.
If I understand you right I think these are valid arguments, but it needs to be done by the end user (you). I will also mention the second argument in the README.

The virtual keyboard is in itself an optional dependency for SDDM. The theme now provides support for it but I won't mention it specifically as it is a very rare use case. Most of us only know of its existence because some distros install it without us even knowing. Hope you enjoy! - Jul 12 2019

A HDD icon is provided since it is by default found in /theme/places. I may be up for additions but I won't include a whole set of hardware devices for now. Hey nicosariego,
I'm sorry for the inconvenience, this is most likely related to the below discussed version requirements.
Line 20 Column 20 in Main.qml is the very first very basic Qt import statement which reads "import QtQuick 2.11".
If this was a formatting issue where Qt would hard require the semicolon then every other user would have this error and not be able to use the theme at all.
You may try to add the semicolon after those import statements in Main.qml and see if that makes a difference for your Qt version, in that case it's indeed a requirement that was removed in newer Qt versions. From there you'd probably get more formatting errors because this was specifically written to newer versions. - Jun 22 2019

Hey ramen. Download the plasma-chili.tar.gz file to your Home folder and open a new terminal. (The path in the following command changes if you save it elsewhere) You can copy paste the following command if you wish to do so or analyze it and execute it step by step:

sudo tar -xzf ~/plasma-chili.tar.gz && sudo cp -R ~/plasma-chili /usr/share/sddm/themes/plasma-chili

This will ask for your password. You should then be able to set your newly installed theme from the system settings. If you're not then you should copy the SDDM default config file and edit it:

sudo cp /usr/lib/sddm/sddm.conf.d/default.conf /etc/sddm.conf && sudo nano /etc/sddm.conf

This will open an editor where you will have to find the [Theme] section and change: Current=plasma-chili
Take note that Plasma 5.8.6 is quite behind the current stable version of KDE and may present unknown behavior. Everything should be fine though. - May 07 2019

There are three settings concerning the blur effect in your theme.conf file which can be usually found at /usr/share/SDDM/themes/chili. These are Blur=true , RecursiveBlurLoops=40 & RecursiveBlurRadius=4 . Loops are the iterations used repeating the blur and the radius the strongness of each iteration. Play around with these to see how they effect the effect :D - May 01 2019

Sorry for the late reply and the inconvenience. The behavior of the SDDM virtual keyboard is a pain for us creators as it gets forcely loaded by SDDM by default if there is no logic implemented to handle it otherwise. Maybe in some future I'll implement this well. - Feb 02 2019

Hello turboteddy sorry for the late reply. Usually these types of bugs are upstream. SDDM has some serious issues and the development seems somewhat stalled. Please refer to their Github for a lot of bugs. As to work around the black screen you could access your system as root on a different tty and unset the theme in sddm.conf. Please refer to the Arch wiki on SDDM for where this file can be found. - Jan 05 2019
