okay, thanks :)
that seemed to help some. it still isn't perfectly smooth, when I zoom in, but that might just be my other settings. :/ - Feb 04 2011

Okay, I'm thinking about making them squared, but I want to know if it's possible first. About the scrollbars: The original mockup had thick scrollbars and range-sliders, so I made them that way. I think I will probably have a version with large sliders and one with small ones, since some people might find the big ones, well, unsatisfactory. Also, Nautilus-Elementary's zoom-slider needs a smaller range, so I have a version with a smaller range already. So don't worry, it won't be all like that :)
Thanks for the vote :) - Feb 04 2011

I see what you mean. I will think about tweaking the colours or contrast on the slider. You like the thickness? ^^

hm. it does look a lot like that theme.
so you think i should increase the contrast? its prelight is blue, so you can see it one mouseover. - Jan 31 2011

on a side note: i have the progressbar looking fairly close to what the pixmap version was under murrine :) - Jan 27 2011

changing the borders on the entries doesn't seem to do anything. and you mean i have to include a background for the entries, too? - Jan 27 2011

GTK2 Themes by Padster 95 comments

well, i thought about doing that, but it seems to be a dirty solution :/
if the application is not native, or isn't using the background colour, then it will look odd. i'm hoping there is an engine that will be able to make something close to what i want. - Jan 26 2011

thanks :)
the progressbar is working and looks right (i used the scrollbar trough), it's just that when the progressbar passes through the transparent space on the edges of the trough, it leaves artefacts. and, yes, i try to make sure i don't lose my progress, thanks for the tips, tho :) - Jan 26 2011

Thank you!
I see what you mean about different scales. I actually try to make all of my icons in 14x14, then scale theme to 48px or 128px or whatever.
It's just pretty hard to get something decent with 14 pixels, sometimes, and if I want to incorporate 2 icons for a new icon they usually don't match up. Also, some icons I need 15px or something a bit bigger, so I do that.
Anyway, I'm glad you like them :D - Jan 11 2011

i've never really made a theme with others before, but i would guess you split up the elements, and each do some, then merge them together. i mean something like someone does the progressbars and buttons, someone does tabs, etc. - Jan 04 2011

Various Gnome Stuff by DavidOtero 5 comments

the metacity looks really easy. you can download my PSD metacity theme, that has no side borders, and change the bottom borders value to 0. then substitute your pixmaps. i can help if you want, but i have other stuff to do, so i don't really want to make the whole theme. it's easy enough, you can look around. :) - Jan 03 2011

okay, wow, i guess i never noticed that you can just drag the left/right sliders to zero and it works. anyway, i have that working, and the bottom shows. but i am getting that graphical glitch you mentioned in the bottom right corner. with the shadow, it still has the glitch, but if you put it up to 24 it seems to be fixed. so i have this theme all working, except for that bottom-right bug. - Dec 16 2010

by adding a txt extension? they are the same format, windows and linux text files, it's just windows needs to be told it's a text file. you can just add the text extension yourself, or just open the file in a text editor. but, yes, i can see how this might be useful to add the .txt to a lot of files if you want to edit them in windows. - Dec 07 2010
