Could you not find the Compiz configurator, or the wallpaper plugin? The wallpaper plugin should come standard with no install needed.
stackswitch
Stackswitch is just another plugin mentioned in the article, it is not needed. Only the desktop wallpaper is needed. You will need the instructions on that site to enable the wallpaper plugin correctly though. You can't just check the box and it work.
The plugin needed to make to work this feature is lost, I couldnt found this.
