It doesn't work with OpenSuse 10.2. There is some problem with KDE (KDE crashes after login with this theme). Fortunately, I could changed it in another window manager.
Works nicely for me. Simple, minimalist, and soft cursor just right for easy navigation.
btw, i dont have any problems so far in displaying any cursor with the theme. extract'g it into ~user/.icons/ i changed my KDE cursor theme (from Kcontrol) to the cursor theme.
Try and see if it helps restore the missing cursors

There seems to be one cursor missing. When moving a window, I see the default Bluecurve cursor (I use FC3) with a '+' right of the arrow.
Is this because of some config-error, or is this specific cursor simply missing?
I have a little problem with the double-arrow cursor (the one vertical, that one that is shown when [in example] you try to resize a window by clicking on its upper side): it seems to be a little out of alignment...
I'm the only one experiencing this?

The howto on http://kde-look.org/help/index.php?type=36 explains it pretty good how to install a cursor theme.
I will add two more things:
If one chooses the cursor theme from Kcontrol they will find that some of the cursor theme's pointers like resize, wait and point does not work and display standart X cursors instead. For now the only workaround I've gound for this is to leave Control Centre alone and choose cursor themes manually. That is exactly as explained in howto. Don't select cursor themes from control centre module.
To add cursor theme system-wide, just copy your favourite theme (cursors dir) in default directory. Also put your index.theme file content of which is something like this
[Icon Theme]
Name=jimmac
Comment=My Personal Jimmac Cursors
Example=left_ptr
into the same default directory. Then copy this default directory to /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/icons/ . Don't mess with Kcontrol, just use this method to make your theme default for every account on system.
If you want to change the cursor theme, again modify the index.theme file and change the theme name in it to say, Silver, and copy your silver directory to /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/icons/.
I don't know the exact reason, but all these cursor themes do not work copletely in KDE while the do perfectly in Gnome. I mean, in KDE resize (all directions) and move cursors somehow get owerwrited by default X cursors.
Does anyone have any tips on how to solve this? KDE 3.2 here.
After I installed and select the Jimmac cursor theme, KDE panels disappeared after I restart my KDE session.

Setting up cursors is as simple as untarring them into the relevant folder (depends on your distro and whether you use XFree or XOrg) and then editing a single X-related file to make them the default cursor.
It has absolutely nothing to do with KDE or KDE configuration. Your panel problem either lies elsewhere or you have made a terrible error.
I also would love a black theme of these. They are obviously the cursors I have been looking for. Clean, hard edged, well drawn. I just much prefer black cursors as they are many times easier to see for your average colour scheme.

not to mention, all the other jimmac cursor builds that i have run into are either broken or lacking cursors; whereas this one works perfectly.

Are you using ATI`s fglrx driver? This was a known problem. The newest drivers have resolved this niggle.

Sized just right. Functional cursors that are clear and visible without hogging attention.

This icon set goes great with the Breeze theme for mozilla. Very similar low-color type type. Definitly pair those two up and check it out!

I don't have sources for animations and some cursors but if I get it, it wil be possible to create color versions.
Just change the color hue of the .png's. I do it all the time in Photoshop.
Yes, it's possible in GIMP too, but without the sources I would have to create the animations png's and now I don't have time for it.
