Worked fine for me on Ubuntu. Just don't use the GNOME Cursor Install Theme option. It extracted the theme to the Home Folder.
Just extracted it manually instead.
Using /usr as local base is Linux default, but other users (and Linux too) may use something else (like /usr/local in BSD -> /usr/local/share/icons), it should be tunable w/ parameter
This is (at least to me) VERY BAD
I downloaded it. copied and pasted the install commands and now My KDE-LoColor, KDE-Classic, iKons, default mouse cursor themes are screwed up and are showing the deepsky cursors instead of the cursors they should be showing!!!. What Gives???
Don't Cry!!!
Goto /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/icons/default
edit index.theme
change the name from DeepBlue to your favorite one.
To know the name of other theme run:
kcmshell mouse,
The package is supposed to make the 'Cursor' your default cursor.
you should have read the /install/doinst.sh file to know what it will do.
anyways, don't worry!

I like the concept a lot

well, it should just be a normal cursor package installable with kcontrol.
Hey I'm curious to know how to make your cursors. Is it hard or does it involve much? Please help me find some howtos. Thanks in advance. :)
