Description:
This is not my own work rather a link to a new terminal font that's caught my attention. It has the legibility of Terminus but a more humanist character and almost strikes me as a bitmap version of DejaVu Mono.

Updated to 1.8 December 21.

Updated to 1.9 May 13.
Last changelog:

From Scott's announcement:

The main enhancements in this version over v1.6 are two new sizes (5x9 and 10x20) and the inclusion of the ISO8859-1 accented characters and currency symbols. There are also many aesthetic changes. Size 6x11 has been changed to 6x12, and size 7x12 is no longer offered. If you used those sizes you will need to update your configuration.

http://iamfuss.deviantart.com/journal/How-to-install-artwiz-pixel-fonts-in-Ubuntu-226000883 this has worked for me countless times. and thanks for uploading it here, it's agreat font.

I really like this font. What's a real show-stopper for me though, is that it's Latin1 only. If it was a full unicode — or at the very least supported Latin2 codepage as well — I wouldn't hesitate to switch to it in my console.

i would like to use it as a system font. but your readme is not understandable for the average user. where do i have to put the files ? i am using bodhi linux 1.2.0 with e17.

System fonts are usually kept under /usr/share/fonts. You can copy the tamsyn fonts into an existing directory maybe /usr/share/fonts/misc. Open a terminal in that directory and, as root, run mkfontscale and mkfontdir. Restart X and the fonts should be available.

thank you !

OK. Not knowing Bodhi, I'll walk through my setup - hopefully it will help. My X config file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf) contains: Quote:

Section "Files" FontPath "/usr/share/fonts/terminus/:unscaled" FontPath "/usr/share/fonts/sgi/:unscaled" FontPath "/usr/share/fonts/X11/misc/:unscaled" FontPath "/usr/share/fonts/X11/100dpi/:unscaled" EndSection
I dropped tamsyn into /usr/share/fonts/sgi and ran mkfont[scale|dir] as root in that directory. Instead of restarting, you can run (as normal user) 'xset fp rehash' for X to reload its fonts. Use xfontsel to look for tamsyn or try 'xlsfonts | grep tamsyn'.

This is the Monospace font.
