Description:Brought back to the GUI by popular demand, Solarized-Light - as originally created by Ethan Schoonover - is the highly valued color scheme for code editors and terminal emulators. This GTK and GNOME-Shell light-mode-scheme strictly adheres to Ethan Schoonover's original color scheme, which has been published for many major applications, with some including the scheme pre-installed. Coders and GUI users, alike, know that - once you try your preference of either Solarized-Dark or Solarized-Light - it is hard to go back to anything else.
In His Own Words:
"Solarized is a sixteen color palette (eight monotones, eight accent colors) designed for use with terminal and gui applications. It has several unique properties. I designed this colorscheme with both precise CIELAB lightness relationships and a refined set of hues based on fixed color wheel relationships. It has been tested extensively in real world use on color calibrated displays (as well as uncalibrated/intentionally miscalibrated displays) and in a variety of lighting conditions." https://ethanschoonover.com/solarized/
The GTK, xfwm4, openbox-3, and GNOME-Shell theme currently represents a careful blending of Material Design elements, in tandem with those of minimalist artist Rafa Capoci, icon designer Wojciech Kalinowski, and full-stack web-developer/themer Pavel Agarkov, with an overlay of the original standard Solarized theming created by Ethan Schoonover.
Chose from either the Complete-Desktop file or the three separate desktop, icons, or cursor files.
Manual Installation Is Easy:
For themes: 1) Extract the "tar.xz" file into your "~/.themes/" folder - to install for current user only - or into the "/usr/share/themes/" folder - for the theme to be applied globally. 2) Use the GNOME Tweak Tool or an equivalent app to enable it for your desktop.
If installing manually, make sure to install the dependency: "Murrine theme engine" if you do not already have it; and update your GTK+packages if you have not.
For icons: 1) Extract the "tar.xz" file into your "~/.icons/" folder - to install for current user only - or into the "/usr/share/icons/" folder - for the icons and folders to be applied globally. 2) Use the GNOME Tweak Tool or an equivalent app to enable them for your desktop.
For Cursors: 1) Same as with the icons, extract the "tar.xz" files into your "~/.icons/" folder - to install for current user only - or into the "/usr/share/icons/" folder - for the cursors to be applied globally. 2) Use the GNOME Tweak Tool or an equivalent app to enable them for your desktop.
Logging out and then logging back in may be necessary on some operating systems to fully implement themes, icons, and cursors.

10 10 the best but ... where is openbox-3 in Solarized-Light Complete Desktop?
openbox-3 wasn't ready, yet, when the last update transpired. The infrastructure changed significantly at that point. I am sorry there was not a reference to that and, by the next update (in the next week or so) I will, in turn, have openbox-3 put back in. Thank you for your patience on the matter. As well, thank you for the positive rating for the theme in general. Best regards, RTL.
Total rebuild to accommodate Ubuntu: 19.10 (others distros will notice a few nice tweaks too)
I have some problems with this theme. FYI: Solarized-Dark works perfectly and I love it. When selecting Solarized-Light the windows title bar is looking wrong and the orange border is missing: https://imgur.com/cXIYqbb Also why is this theme named Material-Solarized-Light, but the dark version is named Solarized-Dark-GTK?

Because it was requested over the norma,l Numix architecture on the light variant. What I ended up doing is blending the favored elements of both on this update, here. By the way, we've all been testing the two variants, on several platforms. Looking good; come and get!

9 I consider this more of a medium or mixed theme (between dark & light). Very nice for the eyes, thank you!

Excellent theme, looks really good. However, the red borders around the windows are not consistent for different apps. For example in Thunderbird the line is ~1px outside the actual window, which is very annoying. Any ideas how to fix this?
I'll have a look at it as soon as I can; thank you for your input.

10 Great theme!
I'm starting to love this theme! But I report this: the text is illegible with dark backgrounds https://imgur.com/Abh3Fa8
Here is this theme on a dark background... it looks like it supposed to: https://cn.opendesktop.org/img/3/0/d/e/fa47dee3ccf8b3dae6b4ce6f220aa9e09b89.png Please send me your specs, if you want me look further into it, thanks.
