QtQuran
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
Many bugfixes and many new features, including a completely new user interface, display by Sura/Verse or by Chunk, improved and more detailed searching capabilities, and support for language packages.
It needs libquran and at least a Text data component (and a font, if you want it to look right).
All of which can downloaded from the project page.
The font is installed normally (nothing special) but to install the text data component you should use the utility quran_install_component:
quran_install_component COMPONENT_NAME.
See the INSTALL file that comes with libquran for details (/usr/share/doc/libquran/INSTALL in the binary package)

How can Jesus the Messiah be only a prophet, when it even of John the Baptist is spoken of: Jesus began to say to the multitudes concerning John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind? But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft garments? Indeed, those who wear soft clothing are in kings’ houses. But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet. For this is he of whom it is written: ‘ Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, Who will prepare Your way before You.’ (Matthew 11:7-10) Jesus is the Messiah, the Christ, the Son of the Living God, because only He fullfilled the Old Testament prophecies concerning the promised Messiah! This is the truth! But of the prophet Mohammed there was no prophecies. No one expected a new prophet at that period. Instead, the Holy Word of God is clear with this, as the Bible provably says: "For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John." ... "He who has ears to hear, let him hear!" (Matthew 11:13,15) Except this one, this prophecy, as foretold by the Son Himself: "For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand. 26 “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it.". Looking at your profile, it seems that you registered here only to advocate christianity and while I have no problem with that, I should remind you that this is offtopic. KDE-Apps.org offered the community this wonderfull place to post software and comments related to software and other artwork. The ability to post comments here about QtQuran is supposed to be used for giving feedback to QtQuran authors/users.By posting these two irrelevant posts here you distract people from the main subject and make it harder for QtQuran authors to follow up which means that it will be harder for them to get feedback which in turn hinders the development of QtQuran and this is to no one's advantage because even if you are not a Muslim, you might find QtQuran useful for educating yourself about the Qur'an. Even those who hate Islam can still benefit from this software. I highly respect your reactions to offending contents on KDE-Apps.org and I respect your strong faith (even if I believe you have been misleaded) because nowadays it is hard to see someone who has such strong faith and it's refreshing to see such faith still alive outside the Islamic world but I think you will agree that QtQuran offends no one and hence it is not appropriate to talk about Jesus "Peace be upon him" here. And btw, some of the links you gave are offending because they include false information and in some cases insults. And while we are at it, you might want to have a look at some "true" Islamic websites before concluding about Islam and you might debate about Jesus "PBUH" there as well if you want because that would be the proper place where you will find the proper audience not here. Take this as a sample: http://www.islam-guide.com http://www.islam-guide.com/frm-more/ I'm interested in this btw, but please let's keep focused here on KDE-Apps.org. Thanks,
wonderful!!! I'm going to try this out!!!
many thanks, everything's working now
When i try to lunch Qtquran, i have this error root@argo:~/Desktop/LibQuran# qtquran Error calling quran_init(), Return Code:-4 I have a SlackWare 10.2
I had this problem also.I solved it by installing 3 packages from arabeyes.org # Text Data Components # Audio Data Components # Fonts which they are needed to initalize the program.
Thank's for help ;)
how do you install the font? it's alwalys segfaulting on me no matter what i do
Nothing special .. just use KDE control center to install the font from the fonts manager like any other font. If you meant the Text Component, then you need to read "INSTALL" file that comes with libquran package.
Sorry, my fault. I added more information to the Changelog above.
Yes ,, kde has everythings... I love this application.....
KDE has everything LOL! Well done.
