Some suggestions: * Since this is an application you should move it to gnomefiles or some other application related site * Please for the love of god and usability, change the autoswitching of show/hide checkboxes to the simple and standard behavior (ie don't change the text depending on whether it's enabled or not). Right now it's confusing. eg while "[x] Show Border" is straightforward, "[ ] Hide Border" is not. * Could you add tooltips for each option? * Also can you add support for opening/editing an existing theme? Thanks!
* Can you prompt the user for the theme destination instead of using ~/Desktop? Desktop is not a good choice for saving files, something many people are used to.
*sorry* for the early reply, but I totally forgot about splashy-creator on kde-look.org T_T * Apps which are directly related to artwork (SplashyCreator, Screenlets etc) are allowed here * Checkbuttons do now behave normal * May add Tooltips in the next release * With the 3.0 codebase it will be much easier to add the option for editing existing themes, but don't expect early reulsts * Theme Destination may be variable in the next release, using the new introduced rc-file
This is application, even it is for greating bootsplashes, it should go to kde-apps.org (if it is KDE application and not Qt or GTK+). So can you please move it there? :-) Your application looks good and we need such kinds more. ps. If it is GTK+, then to http://gnomefiles.org
Does this work for KDE splash screens??
Nope. This is for Splashy. Splashy is used for drawing Bootsplashes* in Debian-based Distributions. * The Splash shown while the machine is starting up
Splashy is not Debian specific. I knew Debian users were a little more snooty but I always understood them to be very intelligent when it comes to Linux. Hopefully the Ubuntardization of Linux doesn't spread to Debian as well.
This was one thing that I really suggested for Splashy in order to really get ahead of Usplash. Would it be possible to also create a splashy theme selector? That would be awesome! Also, maybe you can work with the splashy devs to incorporate this into Splashy.
I'm of the opinion that Splashy is already light years ahead of USplash
