Description: I set up a Linux (Gentoo) computer for a previous XP user, and here is the screenshot! Thought you all might enjoy!
How I did it,
KBFX 0.9 with the light theme (http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=38934) You could also use the "KBFX - XP like" theme.
Use one of the provided menu buttons and drag it onto the KBFX applet.
Right click on Kicker and choose "Configure Panel", goto appearance and put the path to XPbar into the background field. Make sure you have kicker set to small size.
Use the plastik windeco, and the Karamik widget style, and the RedmondXP color scheme. I also used the Redmond splash screen.
Make TBird & FF look cool with your favorite theme. Mine is noia 2.0 extreme.
Find a good wallpaper an you're all set!
I got the "start" button from another theme on here but I don't know which one anymore, but it was GPL so I'll include it here.
I painted my own XPbar and it is included in the files. If it does not fit right you may have to modify it.
I have released nothing of microsofts. I know the start button looks to close to be original, but as I said, I got it from somebody else on here that released it as gpl. The only thing I have released is the XPbar and it is my own making. The XP wallpaper is NOT in the files. If you want that you have to get it somewhere else. Hope this clears things up a little.
Interesting... I'm comparing the button side by side with the xp one, and it's nearly identical pixel by pixel. Was the version that you got from this site in xcf or svg format? I see a lot of mislabled artwork on here.
Cheers.
It was in the PNG format and came with the linux version too (they are both in my download). Do you think I should remove the button and replace it with something else?
The button in question was mine. I was wrong for posting it here and have since taken it off. It was a copy from a screenshot---not original. If the poster feels, as I do, that KDE is superior to Winodws(R), then I hope he reconsiders this posting. Please, create---don't copy!
Alright, I will replace the button. I do feel that KDE is better and hate this theme myself, but things like this can be very useful for those of us whe are not allowed at work... I just saw your XP theme. Looks like you did a much better job than I overall! Sorry to see your theme go, as I said, it can be useful. and no, it was not you that I got the button from.
Sorry for the assumption---it looked very similar. If you want the resources from my kdexp theme, you can still find them at "geocities.com/arenyart". I will leave that site up for anyone interested, but decided to remove it from KDE-look.
Microsoft does'nt care. Get a clue. They're not worried that suddenly because of a look-alike button that all users of Windows are going to switch to linux. Can you even imagine such a thing even going to court? I think not.

Love it, but how can that artwork be released GPL?
