Looks great. BTW, could you adapt the backwater_dim theme so it has a Metal look? Java2 theme.

Your current theme already works great with the ICEWM theme, but with that tiny change to the scrollbar (GTK2/GTK3) it would be amazing.
Also I miss the shaded selections of the IceWM look on menus, but I woudn't like to burn you :)
Full java2 theme is complex and the tabs are really odd, too.

It's fine. I have fun doing it.
I'll add those changes, and also see if I can do anything about GTK2, but I couldn't find a way to tile the scrollbar pattern.
Also both of the screenshot links you posted the scrollbar pattern looks a bit different. In the first one it seems like the bumps are coming out, but in the second one it looks like they're going in. Which do you prefer?
The bumps in the original came out:

Thanks for your work, again. Java 1.4's Metal look is one of the most usable themes ever.
There is a new version out with a lot of widgit improvements. I put a new demo of the metal theme inside backwater-dim. Just edit the file gtk-3.0/gtk.css and change "widgets.css" to "widgets_metal.css" to activate it.
It's really tricky to get the scrollbar to look right. I almost wonder if you'd be better off just starting a whole new theme for it.

3 -Theme is good, but broke XFCE tray
If you wouldn't mind elaborating on how it broke I could try fixing it. I'll install it later and see if I can reproduce the issue
9 + Thank you for sharing with us. I am using it here with Debian 9 Xfce and I like it very much! Greetings, Michael

Thanks. I'd love to help with that. I'll definitely give it a shot some time this weekend.
Alright, there's a version up in extra.tar.gz. Let me know what you think, and if it needs any changes.
Looks nice, but the pointy look on scrollbars seems very tiny under a 1920x1080 resolution. I had to scale them to 2X.
