Xfce explains it. I made this tweak to shrink the GNOME Windows as they are H-U-G-E by default. The Xfce (gtk-2) theme should be the same as regular Adwaita.
I should install and support other DEs as well.
Yes, sorry. I only have GNOME Shell and GTK-3 themes (Xfce uses GTK-2). The GTK-2 theme is the same as the regular Adwaita and it doesn't even have a Xfwm theme. I should install Xfce and tweak it for Xfce as well.

Changelog please?
Sorry it took a while. Adding it now.
Good work! But I'd tweak (say "slim up") more. Not only on window headers, but buttons, lists, droplists, tabs also. :)
Yeah. The Shell popup menus are probably the next target.
It should look the same as regular Adwaita on Xfce. The theme currently supports GTK-3.0 and GNOME Shell.
As I said, it doesn't look the same in XFCE as original Adwaita. I'll check with MATE too and let you know. MATE 1.18 now switched to GTK3.
That's strange, here your tweak appears slightly bigger than the original, not more compact. Running Mint 18.1 XFCE here.
