Berlin Subway
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
The theme contains:
configurable content:
- 4 desktop wallpapers
- a KFM wallpaper
- a icon set (1000 "outdated" icons)
- a IceWM decoration
- a panel wallaper
- 2 KDE splash screen themes
- 4 small sound samples (Ogg-Vorbis)
- a theme for K3b
additional content:
- a log-out picture
- application splash screens for
Digikam, KDevelop, Kontact, Kile, Quanta and Gimp 1.x / 2.x
- an intro view for KControl (only KDE 3.4+)
- an about view for KFM (only KDE 3.4+)
without an install script:
- OpenOffice.org-1.1 toolbar icons and splash screen
- 2 superkararamba themes (for the desktops 2 and 3)
For installation download and unpack the content file ("tar -xjf bk_berlin_subway-3.2.tar.bz2"). Have a look at the README file (hardly recommended).
The feeling of the theme depends hardly on the gamma settings of your monitor. Please check your monitor gamma bevor using this theme.
09/08/06: More icons added (OpenOffice.org-2.0 apps and mimetypes, Amarok actions, K3b actions)
04/24/06: More icons added, mostly for KDE 3.5.
03/23/06: I saw my subway theme on a flat screen - oh my dear - it was not, what I want to show. I add new bg images in (higher?) quality.
02/01/06: Add an "about:" view for KFM and change the intro view of KControl a little bit. Screenshots are aviable on the project page.

Your themes are gorgeous! This and landscape are both great, make more! Now if only you did someting for GTK...
What do you need for GTK? I am using GIMP. It is the only one GTK application I use and a theme for GIMP is hard work. Which GTK apps you are using? I am happy about every return! Thank you for the comment! B. Kaemper
If you make a theme for the GTK toolkit, then it affects all of gnome including GIMP and other GTK apps. So all you have to do it make one. Then there are other things like Metacity, which is the most popular window manager used with GNOME.
Congratulation...this is art, not macosx!! And you are right also about beauty... It's so incredible to see so many souls that dream, cry, laugh and live near us..maybe, we even don't notice them...even if they are so close...close and distant at the same time... :) congrats
Note that on some Redhat installations (specifically the Fedora Core 2) that the folder soffice.cfg should be copied to the folder ~/.rhopenoffice1.1/user/config rather than ~/.openoffice1.1/user/config or ~/openoffice/user/config as stated in the installation instructions for the Open Office toolbar. Looks really really good!
Is it possible, to check out the location of the user config dir of OprnOffice.org ba a script (like kde-config --localprefix) ? It would be nice for Installation. Thx for help!
The next step is to get a karamba clock to overlay the one in the wallpaper. Now that would be cool. :-)
Does Karamba supports analog clocks? I thing, only digital clocks are possibel. A analog clock will be nice.
Yeah, that'll be one good thing to have!
have a look at this ones: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=12972&PHPSESSID=a7f932dfcc6c978028a8126224dc0d67 and http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=12072&PHPSESSID=a7f932dfcc6c978028a8126224dc0d67 these would fit in quite nice! anyway, i like this theme and i'm going to berlin this summer, so i'm looking forward to seeing the "U-bahn" in reality :-)
I will try this job, but it takes a little bit time.
Very nice - good job on the Icons! "Sehr gut!"
The wallpapers look really nice, the icons good, and the colors look pretty cool; but the Window Decoration is the most important part of a theme to me and none of your previews show the WD. Can you rectify this issue? Strid...
Have a look at my homepage. There you will find a screenshot of the IceWM deco too. But is it nospectaculary. I will change the screnshots next days. Greetings
