KlamAV 0.45
o Add handsome new iconset from Maarten van Gent.
o Ukrainian Translation from Yuri Chornoivan
o Fix compilation against ClamAV 0.94
o Fix bug #258424 in ubuntu bug tracker.
o Install Konqueror Action 'Scan with KlamAV' so that it works on all systems.
o Fix bug 213690 in ubuntu bugtracker. Whitespace fixes.
o Fix paths when creating crontask. Patch from Marc Benstein
2008-07-06 Robert Hogan
KlamAV 0.44
o Apply a selection of upstream Debian patches.
o Update scan options to be compatible with ClamAV 0.93
2008-04-05 Robert Hogan
KlamAV 0.43
o Fix compilation against ClamAV 0.93
2008-01-05 Robert Hogan
KlamAV 0.42
o Disable and remove auto-scanning of files when they are modified. The approach is not maintainable.
o Patch from "Nadav Kavalerchik" to handle hebrew filenames properly.
o Fix to prevent command injection from Dirk Mueller.
o Fix a couple of compiler warnings (Dirk Mueller dmueller at suse.de)
o Disable quarantining of files that exceed the limit by default. this one is debateable, but it
seems more people like to not have it by default, as they think their personal archive is a virus,
while it just compressed really well. I think this also matches the clamav default, but I might be
wrong (Dirk Mueller dmueller at suse.de)
o Fix the ui for archivelimits to show "default" when its 0, so that the user isn`t confusing it
with "no limit". ( Dirk Mueller dmueller at suse.de)
o Restrict khtml`s parsing and not allow javascript by default in the update dialog. also,
deleting the filelist is too much because it is already deleted via qojbect (Dirk Mueller
dmueller at suse.de)
o Fix https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=171414
o Patch to scheduled scan script from "Vincent J. Schiavoni"

Any news on a KDE4 port yet? :)
when the port to kde4?
We could create our own project to make sure, that even KDE got a powerful and intuitive virus scanner.
Do you plan KDE4 port of this great app? Now it's only two applications for which I still need KDE3 libs in my system - K3B and Klamav.
I second the motion. I need this for KDE 4.
I've just come here looking for a KDE4 port too... ;-)
Since K3B has been ported to KDE4, this is the last and final and only app that I need to install KDE3 and its libs for now!
I use Gentoo distribution and Gentoo has removed the KDE3 libs and all the packages that depend on it, including klamav. Please, port this app to KDE4.

rpm package for openSUSE11.0x86_64 KlamAV-0.44 http://rudilinux.ru.funpic.de/?path=content&contentid=37
hi can't find the source for this release. URL?
Never mind, I need to learn to scroll DOWN!
rpm package for openSUSE10.3x86_64 KlamAV-0.42 http://rudilinux.ru.funpic.de/include.php?path=content&contentid=9 or http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=206755
i made klamav work for my opensuse based distro descriped like here http://de.opensuse.org/Klamav_mit_On-Access-Scanning_(Dazuko)_installierenit (text is in german) seems to work fine, but when i start the internet or at least have an internet connection klamav shutdown and leaves the clamd process. do anyone know anything about this problem?
Hi, clamav-0.92 doesn't includes anymore the cli_gentempdesc function, so klamav compilation breaks with that version of clamav. I managed to get the old function, it was something like this: ------------------------------------- char *cli_gentempdesc(const char *dir, int *fd) { char *name; #ifdef CL_THREAD_SAFE pthread_mutex_lock(&cli_gentemp_mutex);=0A= #endif name =3D _cli_gentemp(dir); if (name && ((*fd =3D open(name, O_RDWR|O_CREAT|O_TRUNC, S_IRWXU)) =< 0)) { cli_dbgmsg("cli_gentempdesc(): can't create temp file: %s", name); free(name); name =3D NULL; }
Fast workaround taken from the archlinux maintainer: --- klamav-0.41.1/src/klamd/scanner.c.orig 2007-12-19 10:38:11.000000000 +0100 +++ klamav-0.41.1/src/klamd/scanner.c 2007-12-19 10:43:12.000000000 +0100 @@ -396,7 +396,7 @@ logg("*Accepted connection on port %d, fd %d\n", port, acceptd); - if ((tmpname = cli_gentempdesc(NULL, &tmpd)) == NULL) { + if (cli_gentempfd(NULL, &tmpname, &tmpd) != CL_SUCCESS) { shutdown(sockfd, 2); close(sockfd); close(acceptd);
Hi I use various AV programs to clean files I recover from mangles MS machines. I want to write a script that will update them all for me, rather than doing them one at a time. What is the update command for klamav? Thanks in advance for the info and the app!
I just installed the program under Debian. It seems great, but when I try to download the database a dialog pops up saying "Config file error". How can I fix this?
For the first time after many many hours ( i am not an expert on linux) i managed to enable auto-scan. But to do so (as the faq on klamav help says) i must run klamav as root. Is it safe for my pc to do so? Secondly what program should i use to scan rar, zip, deb, zoo etc etc archive files as i am asked in the configure window?is it ark and if yes what should i do to do so? Thanks and of course GREAT APP

Due to lacking a help tutorial with the software I'm wondering what other users have set for the "Configure archive limits" in the "Options" section of KlamAV? By default everything is set to "0" but I tend to get false readings during scans. Any recommended settings to use?
