I'm a believer in 3D.

I use Baghira, which is the successor to Mosfet's (great) Liquid. Highly configurable through kcontrol.

The icon set is Sparkling. The Panel wallpaper is attached to my color scheme as screenshot2:

The desktop background (visible through transparent Konsole) is triplegears. Ethereal (gtk2) is themed by virtue of gtk-liquid.

For window decorations I use BII, which is handy.


I suggest also setting cursor themes to redglass for root, and Golden for users. In an OS that's actually functional (like Gentoo, but not Mandrake or Suse), the cursor changes color according to whether the window is root or not.
