Aqua Fusion Icons Public Beta
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
Description:
The next release of the Aqua Fusion Icon Theme will contain some major technical changes so we decided to provide a public beta version for testing purposes to get some feedback about possible problems.
If you like our icons we ask you to try out this beta and report bugs either per email (aquafusion@flauta-net.de) or in the comments section below if necessary.
This development version features as a special highlight Aqua Fusion Icons in huge sizes of 128x128 and 96x96 (for those who use resolutions above 1600x1200). No new icons have been added since 0.5.0.
Please read the changelog for all news.
In KDE 3.0.5 there are some known places where icon size is arbitrarily limited or even hardwired to a specific value. That means the "small sizes" icon category will work properly only when set to 32x32 or smaller.
NOTE: Due to a bug in the automatic icon installation routine users of the new KDE 3.1 have to untar the package by hand in ~/.kde/share/icons and start KControl afterwards to install the .tar.gz a *second* time! Sorry for this temporary inconvinience, we are working on a solution.
Remember to restart KDE to get all icon sizes offered.

...Definitely fix the yin/yang -- Don't know what with, but yea...I haven't generally liked AquaFusion, but with the setup your using in the screenshot(s), it looks great.
We have heard you! :-)
How long till the update? :-))))
Any chance that the Yin/Yang in Konqi gets chages o something else? Otherwise it is a great set!
now, while i use KDE, i do have some windows partitions on here. i preferred the blue-tint drive icons (that had the square window on them, instead of that curvy window icon) to the ones with the colored windows logo. but in the beta, that icon is missing. did you remove it?
The icon was already removed for 0.5.0 (stable). But we will reinclude it in the next release if you like them. Sorry, but we constantly change many of the older icons into more colorful ones and sometimes icons get exchanged that are still in use.
yeah, i'm some sort of weirdo: unlike nearly everybody else here, i actually prefer the blue-tinted, abstract icons you had for some of the releases. if you could include that windows drive icon in the final, i'd be really happy. thanks!
I'm seeing only 64x64 icons in AquaFusion-20030130.tar.gz. All the other size folder/directories are empty. ??
Yes, it's true. All icon sizes are derived from 64x64 (later it will be 128x128) in this approach. It is some kind of scalable icons without SVG. It saves a LOT of space and the results of KDE downscaling the icons are similar to those done by hand (although it may be reasonable to provide very small sizes separatly). There are some more small advantages (not yet used in this beta). The big question is if this works as intended with any KDE setup. It works *here* for a week now with no noticable differences to 0.5.0 - except now some huge sizes are present.
Thanks for finally getting the larger icons in the set. I was wondering when you guy would change your tune about the larger sized icons. I'm sure the final release will maintain the incredible stndard you've set.
