Description: Screenshots are useless. This style looks like crap anyway as it is a concept style, so if you're looking for the future in cutting-edge widget design, you won't find it here.
"But clee, why would you release something that even you think looks crappy?"
There's a reason why I don't care how it looks. The technology here is what I want to get some feedback on. This is the first-ever animated style written using Qt. And I don't mean slightly-animated like Keramik's progressbars in KDE 3.2 - I mean mouse-hover-effect animated.
And I want feedback, so I'm releasing this terrible-looking but nifty animated style for your commentary. Rip it apart and tell me what you think!
Could somebody post a screenshot of it so we 3.1 users could see how it looks? I _know_ it doesn't look good but I would just like to see the animations. Like "over" and "not over" pics :)

Well, the problem is that it's sort of difficult to make a screenshot of an animation :)
If you're daring, you can fix my brain damage with the package and get it to compile with Qt 3.1. It should even work against Qt 3.0 but I won't make any promises there; I haven't tested it, of course, but the code was originally written against a Qt 3.0 beta, and I haven't added any specific 3.2+ hooks that would fail. I just packaged it poorly, that's all.
You are right, it is ugly :-)
But at the same time it is really funny to see all this stuff wiggle around, and I think one could make a very nice style out of that code. Just as somebody else suggested - something pulsating might be nice. But I assume that it might be hard to produce something that looks good and doesn't disturb you at the same time.
Still, a nice demonstration.
Good luck, if you decide to continue such a style.
I realy like eyecandy animations. I hope you make a real animated style with pulsating buttons and also a pulsating carret in textboxes. Dou you know the mantis installer shipped with sonique? That's what I'm looking for my KDE-Desktop. You can get sonique only for windows at www.sonique.com. Download the sonique 2 snapshot to see the installer. Everythig is animated but still elegant.
Heh.
For what it's worth - I wrote this style originally in November 2001.
Just dug it out, updated the code from the old Qt 3.0beta QStyle API to make it compile with the newer Qt releases, and slapped it together to gauge the level of interest.
So, when it finishes - lemme know what you think.

Well, ummm... I don't have Windows, so no Sonique for me. But thanks for the feedback.
Still downloading, since your host seems to be "kde-look'd".. 1k/sec, but the newest Baghira seems to have mouse over animation over it's scrollbars.
