Hello, i'm using linux with KDE for 3 days now . So, i'm a brand new user of linux. Here is my question,i saw a lot of KDE screenshots with this monitoring tool on the right of the desktop (like in this screenshot above) and i was wondering what kind of program is this (a program , an applet ??) and where can i find it. Thanx a lot
It's gkrellm, look for it at http://web.wt.net/~billw/gkrellm/gkrellm.html
thanx a lot.
My KDE control center say this file doesnt contain a rctheme file... :(
I installed it easily enough, I think. In the screenshot you had really cool scrollbars, which didn't load on mine, I don't think they were meant to be on there. I think you should change the screenshot. I didn't like particulary like the wallpaper, it didn't really match the rest of the theme. It annoyling set the icons on the dekstop to big aswell, which made quite a few of them screw up. The rest of the theme seems nice enough though, if it had those cool scollbars it would rock!
.. it says that you need to have liquid installed to get the _whole_ thing to work....
dah...
Im not sure where to post a general topic, but anyways: I download themes/decorations and follow the installation steps, but i never get the full theme from the installation. I'll uncompress and move the theme into (lets say...) the ICEWM theme's folder and then apply it, but I'll only get a portion of the theme --- such as just the window border -- nothing else. This is a lab computer in my linux class. It's not that powerful. Celereon 533, 8mb video card -- Are my hardware specs hindering my themes?
Hey : I had similar problems with RH 7.3. You have a few options : You can download a RPM package (it is available for RH 7.2 (which works for 7.3)). The other thing I would suggest is using the --prefix=/usr with configure. I found out that this helped my install issues. As far as icons go, I would suggest not untarring the file..the icon applet at the KDE control center does this automatically. hth, Burhan
