I look at the comments and whether or not people are having lots of trouble compiling or installing a package. This helps me determine whether or not I want to download and try it myself. I never even pay attention to the voting score of a package , lots of people don't even vote and the voting system is messed up anyway, it needs to be removed from the site.
But, this submission is beautiful and I'm not even using Debian. Great work by this author!
