has been implemented with current version, hasnt it? nice! i like it =)
What did dissapoint me was that I was trying to get rid of Dolphin all together, but couldn't in KDE 4 (KDE 4 depends on Dolphin and not the other way round), so that e.g. the device manager would open devices into Konqueror instead. I couldn't find a way to change the default folder manager, either...
System Settings > Advanced (tab) > File Associations Change inode >directory to open with the file manager of your choice, i ended up using thunar
I want it! Please for a better visibility put this mockup in kdeapps.org->kde improvements.
why i am forced to use, as superuser, konqui to have tabs for do as i want?? and if i am a regular user?, why i cant have a way to use tabs in a file manager like dolphin?? tabs not mean dolphin becomes ugly or complicated, i used many file manager before and tabs are, for me, the best way to operate over my files between diferents folders, yes split view exist!! but is not the same... but again that is only a mockup...

Is not matter of being "SuperPowerWhateverUser"... is matter of practical... or being useful than to open many separated windows... Thats all.
you should use konqi and keep Dolphin clean and easy to use. Tabs don't really add to it: you can drag and drop between two panes or two windows. If you're such a poweruser you need to open many many windows, you probably also want the split-windows-any-way-you-want, plugins and other cool stuff from konqueror anyway - and we shouldn't turn dolphin into konqi.
yes, nice, we want.
