EasyMonitor is set of SuperKaramba themes.
* Any of the theme you can edit and configure by lock its position and click on top frame of it.
My idea to give users very fast and easy access to change and fix code.
So you can easy suit it to your system.

Can't find superkaramba package. Try install it manually !
Superkaramba is considered to be "legacy" and some new distros don't provide it in standard repos
So you have to look for it on your own.

KDE 3.X Improving the eyecandy of KDE 3.X superkaramba-trinity program based on karamba
https://pkgs.org/download/superkaramba-trinity
For old versions of konsole program in all scripts replace "konsole --hold" on "konsole --noclose"
KDE 4.X Put Karamba applets to the desktop with Python
https://pkgs.org/download/superkaramba
SuperKaramba theme support for the Plasma Workspaces
https://pkgs.org/download/plasma-scriptengine-superkaramba
For example: superkaramba-15.08.3-1.1.x86_64.rpm package works on Sabayon.
After downloading a package that seems to be match for your system,
you can try simply unpack package and even copy files/folders
from unpack archive as them belong into your file system as root.
Then run superkaramba from konsole and look for missing dependencies..
Missing libs can be in different tree - lib - lib64.
( probably you will need libknewstuff2 libqimageblitz )
Or if you want to install it from the source package

Some scripts are in constant deep modernization I deal with this in my free time and do not follow meticulously all the minor but conscious changes I have made outside the general. And that the scripts operate and test them on my own aged hard drive, there is a lot of risk of losing them even due to a mistake when operating multiple tests. .., thanks.
While this Karamba tool is appreciated, please don't re-upload the same file without clearly changing the version number and provide a changelog what has been fixed or done every other day, thanks.
Hi, thanks a lot for this great tool. I've got a question regarding root password: When I was installing the widget, it prompted me a few times for the root password. I was just wondering why it is needed and how this information is used. Thanks.
The approach to security is very different in the different distributions. Therefore, it is hard to write a universal code that will work on each popular distributions without creating and testing a number of conditions. GNU / Linux is oriented to support multiple users in a given environment system by one system which leads to the creation of many barriers for users to do not harm others. ( but root is always root and do what root do :) In an environment of one machine and one user it leads to situation which the most protected is the system as other users before its owner. Therefore, most security is system not your data :). Now Simply, the root password is needed when program modify something outside your home directory, that have impact on way which work system and mention it to you.
Hi, thanks for your quick response. I have another question. When I reboot my machine, the widget is not loaded automatically. Is there a way to keep it on the desktop even after reboot? thanks
it is dependent on meny figs.. as desktop environment ( KDE, GNOME,..) and setup them. In KDE it is somewhere in session management in system settings...
Thanks, I got it.
SERVICE Very good , congratulations. Of course, depending make have hardware que there some small changes , IS THAT Para Each Other . I await a possible update to the "KDE version 5" . IT UP Partially works without KDE5 , however function will clicks and video card NOT work in KDE5 . hugs Rodrigo Hernandes , Brazil ps > sorry for the bad translation . I used hum translator Muito bom serviço, parabéns.
"I await a possible update to the "KDE version 5" . IT UP Partially works without KDE5 , however function will clicks and video card NOT work in KDE5 ."... - `kde-konfig4` command gives version = 5 for new Plasma Desktop... so change `$KDE_SESSION_VERSION = 4' on '$KDE_SESSION_VERSION -ge 4' in themes... You can use KdeFileReplace on EasyMonitor -'/home/test/.kde4/share/apps/superkaramba/themes/EasyMonitor/'... or change all for your permanent command and patch...
I cannot edit and configure by twice clicking on top frame of theme. Help. Thanks
Sorry it's my mistake somewhere in redmine. Themes you can edit by LMB+click and lock its position, after click on top frame.
The install string for Arch Linux should have the --needed flag so that it doesn't reinstall the packages that user already has installed. The new string should be this: sudo pacman -Syu --needed kdeutils-superkaramba kdesdk-kate lsb-release net-tools nmap kdebase-konsole netstat-nat acpi hddtemp hdparm lm_sensors sane imagemagick kim4
Thank you done
Seems there is a typo. There is an extra slash in line 116. 115 if [ -x /usr/sbin/ethtool ]; then 116 echo "/usr//sbin/ethtool";echo 117 /usr/sbin/ethtool eth0 118 echo;echo Done;echo
I see it is in 'ech' so it put only information no output of konsole, bat it seems in linux it also is no problem in ordinary path to command ( perhaps )
Clik on right side of theme and check path in Konqueror :)
After installation process (thank you!), as it started running on the desktop, the console kept cycling looking for wlan0 but I don't have one since this is a desktop on eth0 only. How do I make it stop? CTRL-c does not kill it.\ Thanx
Okay, I just closed it and opened it from SuperKaramba manager instead and it seems to have stopped cycling looking for wlan0. But now, the upload/download graph display is not working. The ethtool and nmap is working as it shows the IP address info and the connections but no status information. Please advise.
Going through the scripts and see in ifconfig.sh a reference to 'iproute2'. From what I can gather, that is no longer in the repos. It is just iproute.
Going through the scripts and see in ifconfig.sh a reference to 'iproute2'. From what I can gather, that is no longer in the repos. It is just iproute. Update: uh, no, iproute2 is already installed with the OS.
- "ifconfig.sh a reference to 'iproute2'" Yes I made mix of them. ifconfig is from package net-tools and ip from iproute2 ( it seems to be two different replacements for control networking in linux ) Go on web pages providers and... I fink it is posibile to use one of tchem. ( I am not a code writer I am user with strong dysleksy. Which is more funny I'm myself :)
- "wlan0 but I don't have one since this is a desktop on eth0 only". Click on top frame and Find / Replace all wlan0 for your interface or use kfilereplace and in /.kde(x)/share/apps/superkaramba/themes/EasyMonitor chande it in all themes.
You can also replace a section ####### # xxx by copy it from Single tcheme and paste in Big(x) one. Themes in superkaramba dont have include/insertion directive from file or another theme or I not have knowledge..
Works with KDE 3.5.10 and detects my openSuSE distribution. Great! But it searches /sbin/iwconfig... I have just /usr/sbin/iwconfig. Made a symlink. And what I need to install in openSuSE besides of "partitionmanager"?
Beter change in theme, left system in pace :) Twice clik on top frame of it and simply change the patch to command or for "if [ -x /sbin/ifconfig ]; then /sbin/ifconfig; fi ; if [ -x /usr/sbin/iwconfi ]; then /usr/sbin/iwconfig; fi". For Suse or any other find samfing by linuxing into deep water of internet :)
