Horovod - Personal File Sharing Server
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
Horovod behaves like a link collection manager on the UI side and as a light-weight Web.Py-based web server on the other. =====
Horovod contains it's own UPnP library and can figure out the IP/Web address for use inside and from outside of the router. =====
You drop a file onto Horovod, (it shows up in the list), click on the button to copy "servable" address into clipboard, and paste it in your chat window. Presto!
REQUIREMENTS:
- SuperKaramba 0.41
- Active NetworkManager is RECOMMENDED.
KNOWN PROBLEMS:
- Does NOT work with FireWalls. Unless that same firewall is also the UPnP-capable IGD and router.
- By default sets up the server at port 8080 or higher. Dialog to choose preferred ports is not implemented.
0.9.2 (July 10, 2007)
- fix: better support for "undeclared" or "default" icon themes. (Previously icons did not appear for some users).
- fix: Now supports unicode chars and spaces in the file name.
- fix: more support for Non-NetworkManager users. Now IP detection for OpenSuse users who do not use NM, but have no access to ifconfig will work.
- fix: If Internal IP is detected and router is UPnP-capable, Horovod now finds 1st available port, as opposed to just asking for 8080.
0.9.1 (July 10, 2007)
- added some support for Non-NetworkManager users
