Third release and still BETA.
Added arrows for browsing trought photos, couple of gui improvements, patch from suslik. Crystal theme is now quite complete.
This is applet for searching contacts, mails, phone, instant messaging.
My first intention was to create somethink similar like

I use it a lot and i am missing a lot on my linux box.
I also want to make this applet to be "proxy" to kadressbook app. But i miss some needed dcop function for that.
Features:
- search for contact by any string in contact (currently email, name, phone),
- copy searched content to clipboard
- run application for every entry (kmail for mails, kaddressbook for name)
- add default kaddressbook contact file
- possibility to add own vCal file without modify code.
- created configuration menu (see little 'i' in right down corner)
- browse using arrows
Todo: (much longer list
)- convert images from base64 (in vCard file) and display user image
- kopete execution with selected contact
- show phone numbers in BIG fonts

It installs fine, and looks nice, but DOESN'T DO ANYTHING.. I'm guessing it is not automatically finding my kadressbook contacts, but It doesn't seem to have any real obvious READ ME or configuration options to point it in the right direction.. HELP PLEASE!!

nice, I am glad someone did a Images. I can enhance kabsa :D I also mention that you removed all occurrences of me as original author. You should also remove debug code which point to my home directory ;)

Is there a reason why you wrote kaddressbookTheme as a Karamba applet and not a Plasmoid ? Well, I think they are compatible (no ?) but Plasma is maybe more integrated in the desktop (theme, etc.) Anyway,good work :)
In time when I started work on this there were nothink like plsasmoid. Anyway I am planing to do next version as plasmoid.
I suppose you're waiting for the intregration of Akonadi then Good :)
1. I don't have a config dialog. The "i" in the corner is grayed out. Are there depends that I'm not meeting? It'd be nice if there was at least a README. 2. The bottom of contact names are cut off by the next field. Here's my terminal output: "sys.path.insert(0, '/home/teeahr1/sourcefiles-etc/superk/62064-kabsa-0.0.3.skz') adding files images/basic/footer.png Error reading file images/basic/help.png from zip no files stored i have items: 0 adding file without storing /home/teeahr1/.kde/share/apps/kabc/std.vcf RVC. addingFile: /home/teeahr1/.kde/share/apps/kabc/std.vcf going parse: /home/teeahr1/.kde/share/apps/kabc/std.vcf parse finished, having 87 items size is 24" I don't see anything of relevance there, but I hope it helps. -p.

I was impatient and added user-vCard-files autodetection. Will auto read all the files you have connected in Kaddressbook. http://accentsolution.com/kde/kaddress-edDD.skz.zip remove ".zip" from the end of the file after downloading.
really nice the vcard reader.I've been looking for this. Wish Vobject was stable.Any idea how to to display vcard fotos?I've been looking for such thing.base64 encoding is just not enough.Any idea?
I actually did not find enough time to work on foto encoding from vCal and displaying in my aplet. I know only that vCard support couple of encoding and one of them is base64. Wait on next release I will work on it ;)
hey dude u have done some nice work here but u have to make some corrections well first of all remove the three files for parsing cause they r of no use instead just put one like this this.searcher.addFile("addressbook.vcf") where addressbook.vcf will be the file user has to export all his contacts into to make the search work this file is to be kept in the theme directory unless user is willing to change the code so plz make the change nice work by the way try make it more like real apple dashboard by giving some background shiny translucent kinda
Thanks. Please read TOOD, one of it is: remove all hard wired stuff. Which is also my vCard test files. They will be removed ASAP, and user will have option to configure them. I will definitely have to work on backgrounds.

It is absolutely briliant. It`s name is poor pluto, and some gui made it in blender. I can`t find original link, and a do not know the license (so i can`t poste it here)
just type poor_pluto_1600x900.jpg to google. It work.
