Leaving the mouse over each item displays the article's summary, and clicking on it takes you to the article's web page.
Version 0.3:
- Improved (hopefully) a bit the algorithm, to make it lighter on the processor.. (increased the refresh rate from 1 to 60 seconds)
Version 0.2.1:
- Fixed the summary blurb, formatting for better reading of long summaries.
Version 0.2:
- Now the auto-update works. Thanks ziuchkov for the sending the fix
Version 0.1 initial release
- I need some help to make it refresh the data every few minutes, couldn't find a good sample for that.

well.. probably lots of people use another navigator, with different syntax at launching so.. can't i use opera for this? NOTE: maybe a config file could help at this point. opera remote invocation looks like opera -remote openURL(URL,new-tab) but the complete list is here http://www.opera.com/docs/switches. of course an easy way to do it could be something like this at the config file: OPEN_COMMAND=opera -rem.... %URL,... (so you only have to change the value of %URL when launching a request) and another question: which charset is used by default? i'm a spanish user and things like más (or similar) don't look great.. could the charset be selectable? (at the same way exposed for the first question i think) regards probably you will see this post similar to the first here http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=27639 obviously both themes seem to be similar and both them have the same problem..
I like this theme very much. I'd like to know if it is possible to change the default browser fom konqueror to mozilla. I prefer to use mozilla, and when I cklikc on the news, it would be nice, if it would open it in mozilla. Thanx.
when using this theme at the same time with xine running a film, xine starts to drop a lot of frames. If the theme is killed then xine continues to play with no frames dropped. Hope you can fix this, because i really like it.
Can you try now? I changed a bit the code, apparently it reduced the CPU load (at least on my machine)
Problem solved.. no frames droped. Maybe you should also see the code from the other themes made by you as they all seem to have the same problem. Big thanks
Update: it appears that no frames are dropped in comparison to the prior version. When watching a movie you won't find the movie stoping and starting, still, and after various tests i found that few minutes later xine pops up a message saying that the system is too slow and that is dropping a lot of frames, however as i said you can't notice that when watching the movie. You are probably in the right way.. it just needs a few more tweaks... thanks ... for your patience..
Good to know it was an improvement. I'll keep working on it. I just updated Linuxnews and Slashdot themes too.
port it to show rss from linuxnews.pl and i will love you ;)
I can try if you send me the url of the RSS feed.
