Description: This is a simple Karamba theme that gives you an apple like large icon panel with time included.
I used the snowbar icons from http://xicons.com.
I made them a little transparent to give it a cooler look.
The theme file is very simple to alter so you can add any icons you want (that have the same resolutions that is) and I included the generic snow addons so that you can make your icon look as if it's dipped in snow and it will blend with the other icons automatically.
Note: This theme was designed for a 1600x1200 resolution. If you have a different resolution then you'll have to play with the theme file.
Hello all,
I like this theme very very much, but my monitor has a resolution of 1024x768, so the theme appears out of my screen. Is there anybody who can help me to alter the .theme file so that I can display this on my screen? I have tried to change the values of the line 'karamba x=... y=..., but I did not get the desired result.
Help is very much apreciated.
Thanks,
Nelly
Hi all,
I've got it! I have never used python language and I never have experimented with karamba themes, so I need a little while to make it. Now I've got all these nice winter icons on my desktop and I am very happy about it.
I've changed the size of the icons to 64x64 so that they fit better with the size of my screen.
However, I would like to use the linux-like "one-click"-method and not the "double-click" method as in Windows. Is there anybody who can help? How can I change this?
Thanks in advance,
Nelly
Hello Bludy,
Thank you for your response. Yes, you are right, I have to double-click the icons to get them work. Can you give me a hint, where could be the problem? I prefer one-click.
Thank you very much!
Nelly
PS: I am sorry for having taken so much time in answering your posting, but I did not get an e-mail notification, that I have got a response to my previous posting.
Ok, most probably your karamba theme is NOT locked. You have to lock it in place. You can do that by right clicking the snowbar and choosing "Toggle Locked Position". That should fix it.
I would comment on this theme, but I dont want to use it. I am not a fan of macintosh. They are only good for one thing, and thats multimedia. When you get the time to design a linux version of this bar for us, then I will vote on this.
Yeah I agree, that would actually be better. I just did this as a proof of concept. The icons can be changed easily, it just requires time that I don't have right now. As soon as I have time I'll make a more linux friendly panel. Xicons.com has some nice linux icons if you're interested.
Thanks for the comment. -_^

The theme is supposed to work with a single click. Do you have to double-click the icons to get them to work?

Why do you use Apple icons, even the MAc logo? Wouldn't it be nice to create a more innovative look rather than copying.
