Description:
"Stainless" is a native window decoration for KDE 3.2, it features a nice button animation. The color sheme which is used for the screenshot is included, too.

I have created it a few weeks ago and it is working great but I haven't felt like "finishing" (minimize the overhead for drawing operations and some minor polishing) it so far. It shouldn't get lost on my HD so I think it's the best to post it here, hope you like it.
Last changelog:

0.1.1
- KDE 3.2 compile fixes.

I like the look but the program crashes Kwin constantly. #3 #4 0x4106c6d2 in XSetForeground () from /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so.6 #5 0x40a64f68 in qsincos(double, bool) () from /usr/lib/qt/lib/libqt-mt.so.3 #6 0x40a65457 in QPainter::updatePen() () from /usr/lib/qt/lib/libqt-mt.so.3 #7 0x40b086b7 in QPainter::setPen(QColor const&) () from /usr/lib/qt/lib/libqt-mt.so.3 #8 0x4150209b in KWinStainless::Client::update_captionBuffer() () from /opt/kde/lib/kde3/kwin3_stainless.so #9 0x41500495 in KWinStainless::Client::paintEvent(QPaintEvent*) () from /opt/kde/lib/kde3/kwin3_stainless.so #10 0x41502678 in KWinStainless::Client::eventFilter(QObject*, QEvent*) () from /opt/kde/lib/kde3/kwin3_stainless.so #11 0x40b031ee in QObject::activate_filters(QEvent*) () from /usr/lib/qt/lib/libqt-mt.so.3

jos

but I have a question: when maximized, does mouse-clicking in the upper-right of the screen close the window, like with plastik (and only with plastik, afaik)??? if not, considder this a feature request...

ceebx

Should work the same way like Plastik if you disable moving&resizing of windows.

jlue

fixed MousePosition in client for my kde-3.1.95-0 to compile but it works now. It looks great. Thanks!

Wonderful...

optikSmoke

I like it, it's clean. The only criticism I have is that the buttons look a little squished.... like they were squares but have been scaled down vertically.

SynTruth

Actually, I like the buttons. They kind of add to the effect of the whole windec. That said, I'm a little tired of brushed metal looks. It is clean, however, and I would definately add it to my rotation. (I never use the same windec for more than a few weeks...I like change. lol)

dle

I like the buttons. I think they're the decoration's distinguishing feature.
