8Love it! Suggestion for a more compact list – would accomodate more items witout needing to scroll:
- remove the absolute path that is under the name and add it as on-hover text.
- decrease icon size to be ust a little bigger than the font of the name.
Great widget!
I do have a 'Feature Request': It would be really wonderful if the sub-items could fly out in a tree view when hovered, and only open when clicked.
I believe there was a similar functionality in KDE 3 or 4. One would click on the tray icon and the list would pop-up, and when the mouse was hovered over an item, a tree view of the folder contents would pop-out sideways. You could traverse down the directory structure this way and open files by clicking.
Thank you! Great work.
Thanks a lot for this wonderful widget.
I have a problem with editing the menu. The menu is too long and has things that are not really 'places' like searching images or documents.
Can you please add the option of removing them from the menu just like the option of 'show devices'.
I am currently on KDE Plasma 5.13.4.
Here is a screenshot that clarifies my point.

Thank you for your comment. There is an issue for this feature request on github (https://github.com/dfaust/plasma-applet-places-widget/issues/3). But I don't have much time right now, so please don't expect any progress.
Excellent widget that I use every day. Thanks for your hard work. One issue I have is that I can't make the timeline or search shortcuts disappear. The are hidden in Dolphin, and I have unchecked "Show Hidden Places" but I still have timeline:/today, timeline:/yesterday, etc, and search:/documents, search:/images, etc. On a small screen this takes up too much space when I just really want shortcuts to a few directories.

9 Is there a way for it to remember its last location so that when I open it again I don't have to scroll all the way to where I was before?

It doesn't work. When I try to open a folder like "/tmp" or a device, it tries to open "smb://..." and it fails.
Plasma 5.17 plasma widget does not resize when prevent certain things from displaying like "show devices" "time line" it does resize to get smaller.

Thank you for your comment. But sorry, that would be outside of the scope of this simple widget. Adding such a feature would be too much work for me.
9 + A great addition to the Folder View icon of /home on my panel.
