Description:
This is simply a version of the existing Elegant Brit theme, suitable for the Mac Menu patch. I don't use that patch in my PC, but Ayoli was very kind to send me a modded version of this theme, so that the Mac Menu users out there can also use Elegant Brit. Please report any bug you find, so that we can enhance your user experience and improve Elegant Brit.

Thank you so much, Ayoli!

NOTE: This version was designed for those whose panels are 24px high. Therefore, if your GNOME-panel has a different height, you might have to change the height of the Panel/menubar-black.png pixmap.

Furthermore, you might need to go to the GNOME-panel properties dialog and choose Panel/menubar-black.png as the background of the panel.

Ayoli also provided the screenshots here included.
Last changelog:

1.0.0: Release of the theme, including the latest updates of the original Elegant Brit version;
1.0.1: Fixed a bug concerning some blurriness in the red-orange stripe in the menubar;
1.0.2: Fixed the Tomboy bug (thanks, Ayoli);
1.0.3: Included an SVG icon for the main menu, as requested;
1.0.4: Attempt to fix the OpenOffice.org bug;
1.0.5: Further colour changes relating to the bug above, for aesthetic and visual clarity purposes;
1.0.6: More colour changes on the colour of the menus, trying to be more compliant with the general theme's scheme; fixed the clock and weather applets on the Xfce-panel (thanks, Lyrae!); switched the SVG icon for a 24px PNG icon, inspired on the Kryan solution;
1.0.7: Attempt to fix the Firefox 3 menus' bug (new userChrome.css);
1.0.8: Attempt to fix the Evolution Mail bug (thanks, Ayoli!);
1.0.9: Fixed the commented code for centered window titles on the Metacity theme; toned down the colour of the handles pixmaps; set the menu-images parameter to 1, as requested;

1.1.0: Published a new Metacity theme, with a red-orange stripe in the bottom;
1.1.1: Attempt to fix the second Evolution bug, concerning the unreadable text on the preferences dialog (thanks to Ayoli, once more!).

can you give a clue about that weather thing :) nice work, BTW.

balcis

openartist

what are you using for the weather app and the system on the right side? Many thanks

As I'm sure it's been noted, the statusbar icons don't use the alpha channel if they have one, but insead get drawn with the background color of the panel and overlap the orange a slight bit.

brainiac05

and sorry for not shutting up but where is the white border from the original brit?

fmrbpensador

As far as I know, both the Metacity and the Emerald themes for Elegant Brit still have white borders... Could you be more precise?

brainiac05

if you look at your screenshot, there is no white border around every window... instead there is a dark border.

fmrbpensador

Hello again. That screenshot, as I informed above, was offered by Ayoli, and therefore I believe that he modded the theme to introduce a dark border. But, as you will find out by downloading my theme, it has a white border, just like the screenshots I took for the original page show. I'm sorry for the misleading image, I'll try to correct that as soon as possible. I had to borrow it since I don't have the MacMenu patch installed. Sorry, once again, and thanks for paying attention to those details. I need and appreciate that. Cheers!

i think it would be more at the original theme if the red stripe would be between the decoration and the window

fmrbpensador

How exactly?

brainiac05

like that http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/2527/brit1ba3.jpg

Oh, thanks!... My bad. I was going to object that the red-orange stripe, in the middle of the title and the menu, would break the continuity of that dark blue field both share, but I just remembered... The menu is on the top of the screen, NOT under the window title!... Oh my head!... So YES, you made a GREAT suggestion. So I'll be working on a new Metacity and Emerald version for the MacMenu users and then post it. Thanks for pointing that out, I wouldn't have thought of that otherwise. I hope you're enjoying Elegant Brit!

brainiac05
