Description: Charcoal is a remix of the great SlicknesS theme by the rob. It showcases some changes i have made to suit my own personal preferences that i feel help improve the usability of the theme as well as aesthetics. It includes...
-Resized and styled menus -Restyled tick/checkboxes -Restyled Scrollbars -Restyled tabs -A new default icon theme
Please feel free to share your thoughts and let me know what you think of the theme.
I am VERY interested in how you got that side thing on your desktop that shows clock, weather CPU etc.. Please point me in the write direction. what's the software called? where can i find it? Thanks so much, its looks amazing with the theme aswell. good job. thumbs up.
It is called conky, its a really great program that you can customise to show your pretty much whatever you want. Once you have installed it if you want to replicate the one i have (or use it as a base and modify it to your needs) you can find my .conkyrc files here on gnome-look (just check my other artwork). If you have any further questions about it just let me know,
Best of luck,
James
Im glad you like it. If you don't like those icons i would recommend black-white-2-style like therob used in the original, They are one of my favorites =)
Ive had requests for the wallpaper so before i forget where it came from you can get it here...

@james, great theme I'm using it in Linux Mint, the set-up instructions for CONKY are perfect although obtaining the licence key for the weather panel was long-winded. I have a few questions ... first is where can I find the Charcoal Wallpaper in your screenshot, and second, how can I get those 3 CONKY scripts to auto-load (one after the other) on start up, thanks for all your hard work, it's much appreciated.
Unfortunately even i am having problems getting them all to load automatically consistently without one of them being obscured by one of the others (usually the clock) however you can find some instructions on how it is supposed to work here...

Regarding the wallpaper i had a look around where i thought i got it from however unfortunately i was unable to locate it. If you would like i could send you an email with it attached?
Thanks for the comment im glad you like it, Best Wishes,
James
In which case i'll include both and include instructions on how to switch. If i receive any more comments of this nature ill probably just switch it back lol. Thanks for your feedback, greatly appreciated =)
im not sure whats wrong, but when i try to launch Conky in terminal, i get the following : Conky: missing text block in configuration; exiting - any idea whats wrong. and, is there any way to change the script from gmail to hotmail as i use that mostly. thanks again for great script
First day using Ubuntu and im totally loving it. ive been trying to few things with conky and yours looks great. is that hotmail it shows by any chance? and, can you include IDIOT PROOF instructions for setting up conky as some ive tried have not worked for me (showing Amarok in it lol)
I will try my very hardest, in all honesty that is what is going to take alot of the time to do. If for whatever reason however my instructions are not comprehensive enough feel free to just contact me directly for help, ill be more than happy to assist in any way that i can
I have finally uploaded it, you can find it here...

This theme would look awesome using the LuzSans font.
Thanks for the suggestion, do you know where i can find it as it doesn't appear to be a default font?
I got it from here: http://hpmini.archive.canonical.com/mie/dists/hardy-hpmini/universe/binary-lpia/luzsans-ttf_1_all.deb It's a .deb file that installs all the different variants of the font.
Thanks, it looks really good, Ive adopted it as my new font =)
Oh btw im a massive fan of your Macchiato theme! The best brown based theme on here in my opinion, looks amazing with the smoke panel =)
