i think this is beautiful. I like that it is crisp and simple. there's so many wild and complicated pics on here, i like seeing something i can an actually use as a wallpaper. i too look forward to seeing it just read 'KDE'. of course, i would love to see it say FreeBSD, too.. but that's just me. :)

hehe, the idea was to keep it simple, to show the logo off, so basic 3d primitives were chosen... this is not meant to be a 3D extravaganza, sorry for the disapointment!
So? It's a nice wallpaper showing his great KDE Conference logo proposal. It doens't count how much time has been spent on it.
You know, some people tend to prefer simple and staight things to bloated ones.

Nice work, just a sugestion :I think to looks more like a wallpaper you should keep just the KDE logo w/o mention the conference place.
I'll probably do this update to the wallpaper after the conference logo competition finishes :)
Which software did you use to create this image? Doesn't look like blender. Looks more like real raytracing.
I created the 3D cube in a real old free program called strata3d then retouched in gimp
I'm not graphics literate but I think it's impressive. Don't mind how long you need :).
