Description: !!If the link is dead try it again later or help me out by hosting this file. Thanks.!!
This is actually 15 wallpapers that are designed to be cycled through in order to make a sort of animated wallpaper. The screenshots are the first, 6th, and last wallpapers in the cycle.
To implement, change your wallpaper settings to multiple wallpapers and select all of the images in the zip file (around 2 MB) then set them to cycle through in order however often you want. (I like once every minute)
As always, feel free to use, edit or do with it as you please. You can even claim it as your own. But please comment, good or bad, on what you think of it.
If someone else can host this I'd really appreciate it. I'm stuck using angelfire.com for right now. (email me sorensilk at hotmail dotcom)Last changelog:
And what would be really great is if this could evolve into people making wallpapers that are more like a wallvideo. I'd love to have a really big animated gif as my wallpaper or a flash file that constantly loops instead of a static background. Basically it'd be like having a screensaver as a background. I'm sure it could be done, I'm just not sure how to do it. Anyone want to give it a try?
The link isn't dead. It's hosted on angelfire.com and they limit your bandwidth by the hour. Try it again later. I just don't have anywhere else to host it right now. If someone could help me out and host this file and the other animated one I made I'd REALLY appreciate it.
How big is your file?
I might be able to host it for a little while! Just to give you a hand...
Let me know...

Well, I'm glad you like it. I've corrected the line on the sides if you, or anyone else, wants to re-download it. Sorry about that.
More than anything I hope people like this idea and run with it. I'd love to see other people doing this same thing. It would open up the idea of a wallpaper so much further. But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.
Thanks a ton! I agree, of course one reason I like it so much now is because it's so very different. It'd be nice to see this evolve into something possibly more complex, but this could be a start of something great (at least this is the first time I've seen something like this...).
This is a really great idea. Now my current desktop.
Only one small issue:
There seems to be a white line on the far left edge of each wallpaper. Just a minor issue...
Any chance of getting this fixed? I'm too lazy to bother, but if you're offering for download, may be worth a look.

Have you tried xfishtank, xearth, etc.? These are "screensavers" which run in the root window. Sounds like what you're looking for.

Sounds like a good idea but the link seems to be dead
