1) get the ubuntu logo in scalable (svg) format, scale it to the size you need, and use that. That way it won't have blurred edges and you can use whatever size you want. 2) use anti-aliasing with your text so it's not blocky

umm nice idea..but the quality isn't so good for a wallpaper, sorry ;)
