The image is beautiful, well done for the reasons it was done. As for the rest, I saw the towers fall, I saw the plans hit and I lost a friend there. There's been enough fighting, enough politics. Leave it all be. Never forget, but please learn to forgive. All this, on the site, is just noise because it doesn't fit, it doesn't belong here. No one should be attacking her, she did nothing wrong.

I DID NOT CREATE THIS IMAGE TO STIR UNREST OR HARSH FEELINGS TOWARDS ANYONE. I CREATED IT S A MEMORIAL WORK OF ART. AS A WITNESS TO THE EVENTS THAT UNFOLDED BEFORE MY OWN EYES ON THAT HORRIBLE DAY I DON'T EVER WANT TO FORGET WHY OUR SOLDIERS FIGHT FOR OUR FREEDOM AND OUR WAY OF LIFE, IT IS OURS AND WE WISH TO HAVE IT REMAIN OURS, FOR ALL OF OUR LIVES. WE FOUGHT TO MAKE THIS NATION FREE AND WE FIGHT TO KEEP IT THAT WAY. HENCE THE SOLDIERS IN THE IMAGE. IF I HAD CREATED AN IMAGE OF BRITISH RED COATS AND AMERICAN MILITIA MEN WOULD YOU BE UP IN ARMS OVER IT AS WELL? WHAT IF I HAD CREATED FRENCH REVOLUTIONIST IMAGES? , OR CIVIL WAR IMAGES FROM "ANY" COUNTRY? IT'S MEANT TO "HONOR THE SOLDIERS" AND WHY THEY FIGHT TO KEEP THEIR COUNTRY SAFE FROM ANY AND ALL HARM BOTH FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC! ENOUGH ALREADY!

1. Saddam was the one "killing Iraq." 2. The incident at Abu Ghraib, while reprehensible, is not representative of the entire US military -- and anyone who thinks so is seriously deluded. 3. President Bush did not lie, he went according to what the intelligence community gave him. and most importantly 4. Why are you people even whining about this in the first place . . . ITS A BACKGROUND PICTURE . . . GROW UP!

Most of the world probably will never forget the crimes against humanity committed by Americans in the Abu Ghuraib and Guantanamo Bay concentration camps.

Thank you for your opinion. Of course it is not a criticism on the quality of the art, but rather on the political statement you feel it represents. I was asked to make a memorial because September 11th, a US national holiday is coming. I did not advocate any atrocities performed by any country at any time in history. I certainly did not advocate the war in Iraq. Our soldiers ( as well as those of many other countries ) are risking their lives in Afganistan, and still looking for Osama Bin Laden. We should not forget why they are there.

In that case I apologise for being so harsh in my first comment. But instead I'll have to criticise the items you selected. For a memorial I'd have suggested something that reminds people of what happened rather than what the happening was politically used for: The first thing Mr. Bush did was to try to convince the world with lies and manipulated and wilfully interpreted evidences that Iraq had Biological and/or chemical weapons. (Which in the meantime was proven false.) When he failed to get the world to support him in Iraq, he decided to do it alone and as one consequence erected the mentioned concentration camps. Don't get me wrong, I'm not condemning the involved soldiers in general. But I'd really like to see every single one responsible for torture charged at the International Criminal Court in The Hague. Including ex-president Bush, of course. The other thing is Afganistan. American soldiers just as the ones of many other countries (among them most likely some I know from my time in the German Bundeswehr) currently are in Afghanistan for the purpose of establishing a democratic government. (I don't particularly care for any other objectives as long as they try to fill that one.) But the sad truth is that in the first place the American troops were sent there because George Bush used the grief of a nation to establish his power.

Beautiful image - thank you! -Garry: Saddam actively worked on making the world think that he had WMD's and other weapons. From the end of the first Gulf War, he continually refused to live up to the terms of his surrender and constantly refused inspectors entry into Iraq or complete access to wherever they wanted to look. There are many quotes from both Clintons, John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, and many other Democrats talking about how dangerous Saddam was and that he had WMD's. Saddam gassed the Kurds with WMD's, remember? So... you have limited "hard" evidence of these things, but the leader of Iraq is actively trying to make everyone think he has them and wants to use them as well as refusing to cooperate as he is supposed to, so it is no wonder that Bush and other leaders felt there was danger from him. Bush did NOT go it alone - when we struck Iraq, we had around 50 other nations supporting us. Just because some of the bigger ones didn't want to support it because they had oil deals, doesn't mean we went it alone. What happened at Abu Graib was bad, but I guess you would prefer Saddam's rape rooms??!!
