Description: After the exciting response from the first post I was so excited I got in the right frame of mind to finish the second WP peice. The background of the image may have a loss in quality cuase the colors are so close in value so Lemme know if they look bad. I can try to fix it (it may just be my video card and old monitor however). enjoy!
About the Passions Project --- What I want to do is create a low profile, high workflow interface for the KDE system. If there are any groups out there working on one that fits the vibe similar to the work i've been posting under the "Passion" posts lemme know. I have this image in my head on how i want it to look (im a VERY picky interface person) and hopefully i'll be able to output it to show all of you and maybe use or help out with!? Anyone up for a group project lemme know!
i like both of your wallpapers. they are very clean, and dont distract from what a person is doing. however, they are rather small for some people (me included). remember, the larger the wall paper, the more people can use it and still have it look good. if you only want to post one wall paper, i would suggest 1600x1200, and then let people resize it in their favorite image editor, or they can use the "scale to fit" mode, and kde will do it for them.
btw. what else are you planning on doing for your project? themes, widget styles, what? im intrigued...
Im currently working on the hi-res (1600x1200@72) WPs'. Thanks for the Input ;) I wanted to start em at 1600 but at the time the designs were supose to be Splash Login images... but I figure wallpaper is the best starting point.. gives you an overall 'mood' of the interface. As far as the GUI goes, I will do whatever is needed to get it looking just perfect (perfect as in fitting the passions objective which will be determind by any computer user that'd like to help). Icons, Tool bars, widgets, etc.
The mood seems to fit the 'aqua/luna' themes that have been created lately but I can asure you this; the quality and style will be unmatched! :)
Yet another good wallpaper I'm gonna have to rave about! :o)
I would also make a version of this without the dictionary entry text. It looks cool, and you did a great job with the text, but wallpapers with too much text cease to become backgrounds and tend to stick out.
Just make an additional version with just the glowing KDE text (excellent).
As far as helping out, my schedule would probably prohibit that, but I'd always be more than happy to do critiquing! :o)
Grazie,
Ty
