For all true followers of Jesus Christ, who realize what Christmas is really about, and of Whom the prophet Isaiah was speaking.

Hey Tim, I like it a lot better now. But like you said in your e-mail, always having text on the bottom can get kind of boring. I would encurage you to keep experimenting with different styles. It turns out that my mom liked you're old one. Maybe other people did too. Anyway, thanks for posting this stuff and keep up the good work.

timbrown527

Thank you John! Take care brother! Tim

nothing seems to change even if you don't watch it for a while. Still knocking up those 3 minutes work "gradient with biblical quote" wallpapers I see. You could at least try and make a nice looking wallpaper. You can do a lot more with The Gimp. Anyway..why are you featuring Obi Wan Kenobi on your wallpaper?

timbrown527

...compared to eternity, this life is to be compared to a speck in the expanse of space. The question you must answer is, will you recognize that you were created by God to live for Him and not yourself...and to enjoy personal fellowship with Him forever? You can criticize the art...but I warn you against ignoring the most important part...the message. Repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you too can be saved. Tim

Faith is not something you can just decide to have, neither is it something you can force on people. I might as well warn you to throw your live away in dedication to some non-existent god guy, but you wouldn't listen either. I for one don't like both the art and the message of your wallpapers (as you may be aware of), and I voice my opinion. To answer a question you asked me earlier - yes, I do spend a lot of time around things I don't like, as these require more attention. Would you call me a fool for caring about three people sentenced to death without a fair trial for fraud in one case and false money in two others in Vietnam? Or for my caring about the people imprisoned in Guantanamo Bay? Or Cheibani Wague, who was recently killed by the police in Austria? I do not like these things, and that's why I spend time around them. I don't have any interest in changing things I like.

Flanders

Ehhhmmmm.....what has al this rambling got to do with my comment on the quality of your art work? As for ignoring the message..we are here for wallpapers and other eyecandy, not for messages and sermons. If I wanted sermons from some self proclaimed prophet like you I would go and join a sect or something. Thankfully not all Christians are like you. I know quite a few deeply religious people and they don't try to force their religion onto others by continuously spreading "the message". This doesn't mean they don't talk about religion and their activities for their church, they just accept the fact that not everyone will share their religion. They believe in living their lives and just hope some of their values and believes will rub off onto others. We get along very well. I think their approach is much better than yours and so do they. They think your approach is extremely counter productive and is more likely to push people further away from Christ. I have to agree on that.

Please don't feed this troll any further. He began this by asking us to only discuss his work. He even threatens to repost if he gets flamed. You then proceed to actually discuss the quality of his art, just as the artist asked, without flaming him in any way, just as the artist asked. The artist then responds by denying the issue you raise and very weakly changing the subject by attempting to proselytize you. He is not here to do art, nor does he care for art. He is here to troll for his beliefs, and damn all who don't agree. Vote it down & go on with your life, but please don't feed this troll. See it for what it is.

timbrown527

Discussion is fine. A thread permeated with flaming, cursing and other filth is not...besides it accomplishes nothing. If I'm a troll...which by definition means looking to start a fight...why would I then say I'd terminate a fight? See? We just had a calm discussion and I didn't even clear the thread! :) Tim

Man, get outside a little. Go enjoy life. There is so much more to life than trying to convince the world you are so right about everything. You have no clue why you draw flames from others. You really don't, no matter how many others can see it. I feel really sorry for you.

Sometimes I am amazed how intolerant of others we have become. I don't care if you post religous themed wallpapers (All religions). Nobody is forcing anyone to look at them or use them. And nobody is being coerced into joining a church. The second amendment states: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;

That's freedom of religion not from religion. Now as long as this site continues to have a variety of content, I will visit it. I don't complain about the GTK themes. Let's not get so worked up about nothing.

Soyburg

The second amendment states: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; While that is a rather nice quote, I would like to remind you that this relates to US constitution. Not Chinese, Vatican, Indian or Saudi Arabian constitution. You may be a citizen of the US, but on the internet, you are just one among many others. How about this quote? Say nothing of my religion. It is known to my god and myself alone. -- Thomas Jefferson

timbrown527

Quoting Thomas Jefferson sounds good...especially if you consider the push to "privatize" faith and the expression of it. Jefferson's quote sounds convincing until you consider two things: Jefferson (as I have told you before) was a deist. He was not a Christian. Jesus Christ tought and still teaches through His Word that we are not to hide our faith. Even if Jefferson were a Christian, the words of Christ are authoritative over and above Jefferson. The apostle Paul is an example of this. He was often beaten for his evangelism. He was stoned, beaten and left for dead outside Jerusalem. What'd he do? Learn his lesson on political correctness? No, he obeyed God and got back up and went back into Jerusalem. The issue is this, when someone is walking off the edge of a cliff, it is NOT loving to just let them do it because warning them might offend them. Whether you want to admit it or face it, Soyburg, you are walking toward a spiritual cliff. Jesus Christ died on a cross for you. He had been scourged until his flesh hung from his body. He was barely recognizable as a human being. He was spat on. His beared was pulled out. But he allowed himself to fullfil his mission: To die for the sin of man, yours and mine. I was saved out of pornography and a host of other trash. I know what it is like to live on the other side. The PC arguments on "privatization" have no leverage on me because I have learned that Christ loved me enough to hang naked on that cross, bearing the penalty for my personal sin...as if He had done it all Himself. Being God, and being omnicient, he knew about me and my sin...and as he bore it, he said "Father, forgive them..." including me...and you. All I had to do was grasp that by faith and lay it all down for Him. So, keep it to myself? No. No way. Not after what Christ did for me. There is no question about what Christ did for you. The question is; what will you do with Him? Or more importantly, what will your pride keep you from doing with Him?

0xdeadbeef

Two words: circular logic. You believe that christianity is right because christianity is right and says it is right. Can't you see the flaw there?

timbrown527

As has been discussed before in previous threads, the scriptures have been demonstrated to be historically/archaeologically/prophetically reliable. There is evidence to trust them. By way of analogy, when you go to a restaurant, you trust the food you get because you have a track record with the restaurant...you eat the food without concern of being poisoned because you trust them...and know they can be trusted. That's not circular...the same is true with God's Word. Tim

By way of analogy, when you go to a restaurant, you trust the food you get because you have a track record with the restaurant...you eat the food without concern of being poisoned because you trust them...and know they can be trusted. Amusing. You'll be amazed at the amount of people who get food poisening at reputable restaurants with good trackrecords.

How wonderful it must be to know what is right for everyone. How great a person has to be in order to know what is best or all. What skill and talent it must take to say, "Aha! I have found what works for me, and therefore, I KNOW it will also work for everyone else." Would that we could all have egos big enough to think like this. And to be able to so clearly state with such clarity, that all other religions, except for his, is utterly and completely wrong. There is definitely several issues here in his words, but I doubt very seriously it is a religious issue. Perhaps a therapist could help him see he has now way whatsoever to know what is right for everyone. And what may work for him wiill not work for all.

timbrown527

Intolerant? Well, if by "tolerance" you mean that there is no one "Truth" that rules above all others...yes, it sure is intolerant! TRUTH by definition is narrow. Even when you go to the doctor, and he says he MUST do something, I don't think you say he's being "narrow". You either believe in the law of non-contradiction or you do not. If you don't, then you cannot say I am wrong...because everything is equally true. If you DO believe in the law of non-contradiction, then you must allow for a real truth "out there" and that just maybe I'm right. Which is it? All religions at one point or another have some form of exclusivity. Islam would convert you by force at the point of a sword. Is that tolerant? I hold no sword...and you have the freedom to walk away and ignore me. Jesus Christ said that HE is THE way, THE truth and THE life...and no one gets to the Father but by HIM. His claims were VERY exclusive. He said that "the gate is NARROW and FEW find it." The Bible isn't true because I believe it, I believe it because it is TRUE. It's not true because it works, it works because it is TRUE. Tim

Flanders

Tell me Tim, if the TRUTH can be found in the bible why are there several different versions of the bible? Does this mean there are different versions of the TRUTH? Seems a bit odd to me. Which TRUTH is the true TRUTH?

johnkess

Hey Flanders, Obviously, you don't know much about what you're talking about. Different versions of that Bible? Having different versions of truth? I can't believe you would say something like that. While there are different styles of interpretation, the substance of the message is the same. Gammatically, versions of the Bible differ, but they all convay the same ideas. They all point to one truth, Jesus Christ. Why don't you do some research and then tell Tim about the "different versions of the truth." Read the Bible some so you'll actully know what you're talking about.

Flanders

You needed to be saved from something as boring as pornography?

Brandybuck

While that is a rather nice quote, I would like to remind you that this relates to US constitution. Actually, it relates to freedom. This isn't a concept the US Constitution invented on the spot, but a recognition that there are fundamental human rights that no government should be allowed to put aside. The freedom to practice one's faith without interference by the government is one of them.

I have no objection to you posting religious wallpapers, although personally I find it a little distasteful. I do not believe that your wallpapers belong on this site. This site is for "eyecandy for your KDE Desktop". The fact is, this, and your others, are not eyecandy. The gradient is rough on the eyes, the fonts are tacky and the clipart is pretty lame. This is not intended as flame, I am simply letting you know why some people do flame. Improve your work, and maybe you won't get as much flame.

dantavious

I do not believe that your wallpapers belong on this site. This site is for "eyecandy for your KDE Desktop". I think that this is a wonderful wallpaper. I find it distasteful for people to try and enforce their idea of "EYECANDY". Please keep up the good work
