Anyone has an idea on how to fix it? Several pids in xession-errors e.g.: (gnome-panel:1383): Gtk-WARNING **: Theme directory of theme Polar-Icons-2 has no size field
Hi there. I installed Abiword this morning and in the menu it's still using the original icon, not the Polar one - tried a few quick things but can't get the Polar icon displayed.
Sorry, figured it out... it just needs to be renamed from abiword.png to abiword_48.png (I'm using Debian Squeeze, don't know if this is distro-specific or not).
These are just wonderful icons. I haven't used anything else on my desktop for about 9 months. Simply brilliant work!
sorry for my english (i'm french) how we can suggest an additionel icons ? I make serie for HPLIP 32 to 256
Wow, it's a very nice work, man! ;-) Maybe the installation is a lil' bit harder than if you compress just in a tar.gz, cuz' first I needed to uncompress it, than make another compressing, but it is great and beautiful!
Ya i apologise for that, its due to it being a relatively large file (larger than gnome-look allows) so i have to use an separate upload site that seems to like adding an additional archive to whatever is uploaded =(
Hey Santiagoward, i took the initiative and followed your suggestion. Just to let you know both of those icons are now in production and will be included in the next release, as always if you can think of any more be sure to let me know, All the best, James
Cheers for your initiative and congratulations on the new release! :D
Thanks and thanks for the help, as always you seem to be the driving force behind this project =)
Please don't flame me for this, but could someone tell me how to install this, i have tried appearance but it says that it is not a valid theme, please tell me what i need to do, in simple words. Thanks
No problem, you need to open the downloaded folder until you see one named just polar-icons-2 (doesn't have byjameshardy88 on it or anything) move it onto your desktop and then right click on it. From there select create archive and let it use the default name. Then open up appearance preferences and simply drag and drop your new archive onto it. Hope this helps let me know if your having any further difficulties, ill be happy to help =)
Thanks for the help, but what i did was just take the polar icons folder and just moved it to /usr/home/.icons and now it works, but thanks anyway :D
Glad you got it to work, my explanation would only have done the same thing anyway =)
Hi! There are some apps I use that aren't actually covered by the theme. Maybe you could fill at least the most common ones: * xchat * listen * cairo-dock * xfce4-notifyd * icon_aumix (it's a terminal mixer, but the Xubuntu team made a desktop file, perhaps you could use the "multimedia-volume-control" icon) * perhaps some form of "start-here" icon with the Xfce logo * gufw_menu (perhaps the "firewall" icon could be used here?) * clamtk * dia_gnome_icon * cheese * soundconverter * gnome-planner I tried to somehow order the list from most to least commonly used. I think xchat, listen and cairo-dock are quite common, even on GNOME desktops. The last ones of the list are just in case you REALLY feel like drawing ;) I hope you don't mind I make so many suggestions (I feel I'm asking too much). As usual, thanks for all your hard work! Regards
Thanks, no really always feel free to ask for more icons, i like to know which apps ive missed so that i can cover them. Ive actually been meaning to get around to cairo-dock for some time now so maybe this'll give me some motivation to get it done, look out for them in the next update =)
OK, if you REALLY don't mind... I'm starting using wxMaxima, a nice math app. If you feel like feeling it, the icon's name is maximaicon. On the other hand, the Education menu category is missing, but I couldn't find any icon theme that fills it, so I'm not sure what's it's name. Regards.
ok ill have a go at adding both, and happy birthday btw =)
Thank you! :D
Nice job! I really like the new icons, specially the one for Listen. :) About the Education category, turns out it's file wasn't pointing at any icon. I guess Xfce user's (or at least Xubuntu, I don't know if other distros have this same issue) will have to edit the xfce-education.desktop file manually to use an icon there. Thanks again!
oh right, thats a strange little quirk, im thinking of writing a small read me file for the next release so ill make sure to include that bit of info thanks =)
It's been a while since my last request! Could you make an icon for Midori Web Browser? http://www.twotoasts.de/index.php?/pages/midori_summary.html Thanks!! :D
Hey Santiagoward, good to hear from you =) No idea why but for some reason it wouldn't let me reply to the correct post. Anyway yes ill get onto creating a Polar Icon version of it straight away. All the best, James
Thanks! While you're at it, could you make one for claws-mail, if it's not much trouble? BTW, I can't reply to the proper post either. I guess the thread got too long already. Perhaps next time I should open a new one ;)
Congratulations on the new release! However, there are a few broken links in /apps: * compiz-fusion.png * compiz.png * deluge-torrent.png * evolution-calendar.png * fusion-icon.png * miro-72x72.png * seahorse.png * vinagre.png * wmtweaks.png * xfcalendar.png * xfce-mail.png * xfce4-notes-plugin.png * xfce4-schedule.png * xfce4-systray.png
