The reason why this theme shows no icons for desktop and others is because although there are only folders inside the directory labelled 18x18, scalable, and true-scalable, the index-theme file show listings for 8x8, 16x16, 22x22 etc.
To fix, simply find the index.theme file within the icon theme's directory, open it with a text editor, and remove all entries mentioning folders that don't exist. Finally add in the extra folders that are in the directory, but not in the index.theme file, and the icons will work perfectly.

Downloaded and installed... but simply don't changes some icons. (I.e. : desktop icon in the menus, hard drive on the desktop and menus)

i think that means the theme just doesn't have those icons, so u have to change them yourself.
Is there maybe something wrong with the icons for pidgin, rhythmbox and vlc? They are only visible on hoovering
