Usplash supports the following resolutions (x86 only):
600 X 400 640 X 480 800 X 600 1024 X 768 1280 X 1024 1356 X 768 (Widescreen) 1680 X 1080 (Wide screen)
GDM Supports resolutions up to 1280 X 1024
To change the usplash I suggest the usage of startup-manager, extract the tar and load it into startup manager under appearance tab. http://web.telia.com/~u88005282/sum/index.html
