by adding a txt extension? they are the same format, windows and linux text files, it's just windows needs to be told it's a text file. you can just add the text extension yourself, or just open the file in a text editor. but, yes, i can see how this might be useful to add the .txt to a lot of files if you want to edit them in windows.

line breaks also need to be converted. unix breaks are \n , dos breaks are \n\r.
