Description: Good evening everyone, today we are trying to freshen up the look of pidgin written in python using the screenlets from meek, with minor modification. I will try to explain step by step how to get good integration with the Desktop Environment. The first step, surely, is to install the screenlets manager (the one maintained in the Ubuntu repositories is fine):
sudo apt-get install screenlets
After all packages will be downloaded and installation is complete, we must create a folder inside our home:
mkdir ~ /. screenlets
Download the archive from the link above and unzip everything in the directory you just created. Start the screenlets manager (Applications → Accessories → Screenlets), look for Pidgin and activate it (you can choose to start at login not to repeat this step for each system startup). Start the screenlets manager (Applications → Accessories → Screenlets), look for Pidgin and activate it (you can choose to start at login not to repeat this step for each system startup). The elementary theme should be on from the first run, if not you can select the menu screenlet. Last trick, I used, you may activate the plugin pidgin buddy list, select options and hide the buddy list When it is created.
