For those of you who want the wallpaper shown in the screenshot, I found it here (available in any resolution) http://wallpaperswa.com/Abstract/Textures/floor_wood_textures_wood_panels_2560x1600_wallpaper_25060

I finally got the window decorations displaying properly. First I went to System Settings -> Workspace Appearance, I clicked the Get New Docorations button and searched for "uniq". I installed the one called "uniq v1 aurorae". I then noticed after installing and applying it that it was glitchy when a window did not have focus (most of the bar and border around the window would vanish). I eventually went to Systems Settings -> Desktop Effects -> Advanced Tab and changed Qt graphics system from Raster to Native. That fixed the problem and everything seems to be working fine now. Hopefully the tips in this comment and my previous ones will help people who are trying to get this theme working.

I finally figured out that I needed to install the qtcurve package, then go to System Settings -> Application Appearance, select it in the Widget Style dropdown, click Configure next to it, then select uniq from the presets dropdown. Now the last thing I need to sort out is the weirdness in the window decorations. Hopefully there's a setting somewhere that can fix that.

I can't get the uniq widget style to show up under System Settings -> Application Appearance. This theme is completely broken, I would advise no one else to waste their time on this until such a time as it's fixed. Too bad because I was really looking forward to using this, it has a great look based on what I see in the screenshot.

I figured out that I needed to edit .bash/functions.sh in the uniq directory and change line 1356 from $HOME/.kde4 to $HOME/.kde as my kde directory is under .kde, not .kde4. It appears as though the script is also supposed to allow the path to the kde home directory to be specified as a commandline option (i.e, ./install.sh ~/.kde) but that didn't work for me. After I changed it in functions.sh the installation seemed to at least partially complete. I can now see the desktop and window themes present. The window decoration theme is broken though, the buttons and text show up fine but the background is shrunken down and only takes up a fraction of the space that it should.

I too can confirm that the install script is not working. I've gone over the code and it seems to try to copy some stuff to directories that don't even exist. I've been trying to get the theme installed by hand for the last half hour but no luck so far. Normally a theme would just have a directory that can be copied to ~/.kde/share/apps/desktoptheme, but this one doesn't appear to work properly if I just copy it there.

SicoBulo

Do you have some instructions on how to install this? apparently your script install nothing or I'm not doing the things well.

jarco

I have to congratulate you. This is the best theme I ever used. It took me a while to install it (installer didn't work and the readme wasn't present) but after I finally did it and changed some colors in small places I was AMAZED. This is TRULY the best teheme for any Desktop enviroment I have EVER seen. Thanks for the great work.

Goliathis

Nice theme but DON'T INSTALL WITH CHAKRA 2011.12 because broke Kwin and to uninstall it is a pain.

Kivutar

This theme is in serious need of an update.

hi, there is a bug in the aurorae theme: http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/7753/uniqbug.png other than that it really looks great :) good job!

SleazyCriss

Same problem here.

ilpianista

confirmed

ilpianista

I fixed it setting Left,Top,Right,Bottom Padding to 16px and using border size: normal

dantle

Sorry, where'd you find these settings? grepping the unzipped directories returned nothing that you mentioned. Thanks.

Hi, I used the Auroraedesigner http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=122763

hey, i've installed uniq theme with the installer, i checked if in Aurorae theme is uniq, then i checked if in qtcurve uniq is selected. here is my problem: http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/4854/24967473.png blue bar at the top really doesn't fit this theme

Scnd101

Looks like a colorscheme problem, I'll try to fix it asap, thanks for the heads up.

repsakkgn2

awesome theme, man! I've one question though.. In qtcurve is it possible to make menubar and menu(right click) of different colors? e.g. I want my menu being light and menubar in dolphin and other apps - dark. Is it possible?

sxe

I noticed some missing icons (folder icons) in akregator. Would it be possible to get the 1.0 uniq icons, cause there it worked. It seems t be a problem with small icons in general, i found several places with missing icons when the icons are too small. I never noticed this in your theme before.

Scnd101

Just had a look at it and it seems some of the images are corrupted. You should be able to fix it by running: cp ~/.kde4/share/icons/uniq/22x22/places/directory.svg ~/.kde4/share/icons/uniq/22x22/places/folder.svg -f && cp ~/.kde4/share/icons/uniq/22x22/places/directory.svg ~/.kde4/share/icons/uniq/22x22/places/inode-directory.svg -f && cp ~/.kde4/share/icons/uniq/16x16/places/directory.svg ~/.kde4/share/icons/uniq/16x16/places/folder.svg -f && cp ~/.kde4/share/icons/uniq/16x16/places/directory.svg ~/.kde4/share/icons/uniq/16x16/places/inode-directory.svg -f thanks for the heads up, I'll try to upload a new version soon

sxe

ok, thx that fixed it. :) btw, i had to copy /home/sxe/.kde4/share/icons/uniq/scalable/places/folder.jpeg either. And your very welcome, you are doing the hard work, so we can at least fix some bugs. ;)

cfraz89

Excellent theme, and such completion is a bonus. It would be great if this was included in kde.
