Description:
I added (marked in magenta) some emoticons to the "Default" theme, activated (green) some, that were already included in the directory but not mentioned in the emoticons.xml and modified (cyan) some existing to look better, IMHO.
Last changelog:

I think the Default theme is GPL, isn't it? Please coorect me if not.

2005/12/01: Updated for 'that time of the year', i.e. one more emoticon (shown in the second screenshot)

2005/12/02: updated 'that' emoticon and added another, that is not displayed in Kopete 0.11 !? I have no idea why. So I added ":0)" as a work-around.

2005/12/09: one more

2006/16/03: two more emoticons - one season emotican, one general purpose

The cat looks very creepy. Please could you change it? So that it looks just like the other ones.

I wish that the default theme could include all icons and strings for every protocol kopete supports. I'm trying to include all from ICQ5 on default plus, but some icons are missing and I'm not a good artist with gimp :-(

eagleMcMoe

OK, if you update the strings I could try to add the missing icons.

Take a look into http://paginas.terra.com.br/informatica/20xx/Defaultplus.tar.gz I've updated the strings and added one smile I made myself, feel free to include into your theme, I don't want to create just one more, let's work togheter a bit ;) I've made it so that it works nice with ICQ5, but there are a some images that we need to create, maybe we can ask the artist that made the job for the original default?

eagleMcMoe

Sorry, but I did not notice your answer before today. Could you sent it to me? Thanks.

Oh, the other part of the comment: "the default theme could include all icons and strings for every protocol kopete supports" It seems the strings that are recognized by other IM clients differ from protocol to protocol (at least for some more specialized emoticons). So if one uses the toolbar to insert them there should be some hint in the emoticons.xml if a special string should be used for a given protocol. I don't know if such an extension exists. Probably in addition some strings are only valid for a given icon if a special protocol was used. This could become a coding issue.

Is there a way for kopete to handle this? Because my friends sometimes send emoticons and I don't see them, it's not fun this way.

eagleMcMoe

If the icons are there it is not very hard to include the strings thus they are replaced in Kopete. Just tell me what's missing and I will try to include it.
