export each button as a png. (you can create a new folder somewhere to save these png images too)
in amarok 1.x.x go to "customize toolbars"
select the toolbar which has the "play, stop, etc buttons)
from here, you can select each individual button and change it's icon... just "browse more" and go to the images in your new folder.
You can then also do the same for Kaffeine & ShowFoto... (basically, anywhere you can select different images for these types of buttons)
If this does not make sense, just ask and I will explain with more detail. :) - Nov 02 2009

That icon will show fine for you, becaue that icon is on your HDD, but when anyone else tries to use it, and they do not have that same image, in the same directory on their machine... it will not be there - Oct 23 2009

Now for the next thing. Your volume icon may not work because you did not embed the image, into the .svg
Import the image again, then go to
"effects > Images > Embed All Images"
If you do not use this process with imported raster objects in Inkscape, the do not stick and show only as a red "X" ;) - Oct 23 2009

Gracias - Oct 24 2008
Also, for those who do not know... when you click download and get the text version on your screen... just right-click on it and select "save as" and the correct format to save will appear - Oct 24 2008

I myself feel the kde devs should try to help you do this and make this an official kde app (built in)
But, we'll see what we can do.. it's definitely an awesome idea, and the last release worked very well... - Aug 07 2008

PS I fixed the theme.rc and am sending it to you to upload as an update here
The options you included right in the theme.rc will be of great help to others... this is where people like Moodinwrad slipped.... noone has used such options because they don't know where, how, why, etc...
This clears a lot of that stuff up nicely - Jul 30 2008

Between this and the moodin theme engine... I have both installed everything done using kompile... but I have absolutely no idea how to go about implimemnting anything
I want to make icons blink or fade in and out etc... but have tried every which way I can think of...
This all needs to be made simpler for the people who will actually use it the most... artists who have little or no tech skills
A tutorial would be so greatly appreciated by many... Thanks
BTW I will also offer to help in any way I could with putting the tutorial together, even if it is only to test to be sure the clearest layman's terms are used so everyone can clearly understand the steps
I think these are great scripts, but notice you never see any splash themes which use them?? It's because we can't figure it out.
Splash themes are getting very boring and they shouldn't be so with such great power behind them.... But, if you don't know how to use the tools... they are no good to you - Jul 29 2008

Where should I place the file once I have extracted it?
To be able to use it, that is...
I have always revamped splashes vis editing the theme.rc, and this looks like a much easier way.
Do I understand correctly, it looks as though I would be able to drag the items (.pngs etc) to where I want with my mouse?
Any help is appreciated
Thanks - May 02 2008

By "pegs" do you mean the stones? Actually, I have reworked it so you don't see the stone icons before they appear during loading, I just have to update it here. - Feb 13 2008
