 Debian package? KMM transfere?

 by kap4lin on: Aug 12 2009

Score 50%

Looks interesting. Two questions:

1. Any Debian/Sid package?

2. Any way to transfer the data from KMyMoney to Skrooge?

I'm not aware of any debian packages... It may come whith our first release from KDE extragear, planned on August 29th.

Regarding KMyMoney files, you can export them in QIF, and import them in Skrooge.

The download page showed a .deb (0.2.9) file which installed fine on Debian/Sid !!!

The transfer from KMM also went "almost" smooth. Very impressive. Though, I am not sure whether the "transfer" transaction were imported correctly.

I see a "Hide checked operations" on the top of the operations context. But how do I check an operation.

 Debian package? KMM transfer

Never mind, I am reading the handbook - figured out the reconciliation process...

But some icons are missing, eg. Categories, Monthly report, Units, "two-way-arrow" for transferes

Thanks for the feedback ! The missing icons is because some sizes were missing in skrooge 0.2.9, which is no longer acceptable in KDE4.3. This will be fixed with next version, 0.5.0 due on August 29th.
The .deb file is actually for ubuntu... Glad it works.

 Performance

I've been checking out Skrooge and so far I like what I'm seeing. I really like the reporting capabilities of the program. One problem that I noticed is that it takes a long time to reconcile an account. When I select the check mark for each entry it takes approx. 10 seconds until it accepts it and I can move on to the next entry. The cpu also goes to 100% during this time. Is this normal?

Thanks for a great program!

Nope, that's definitely not the normal behaviour... Can you please open a bug report on http://bugs.kde.org ? Please give as much details as you can.

Thanks !

When will version 0.5 be released. You talk about a bug being closed and performance being better but I would like to know when this will be released.

Version 0.5.0 will be released on August 29th. The delay is mostly needed by KDE translators, if you are OK with english, and impatient, you can try the SVN version !

Thanks for letting me know. I look forward to using it. I will have to see if it inputs the way I want it to. I have so many to enter now that any thing to make this easier would be helpful. This is why I wanted to enter it almost like a checking book. It just makes things easier on me to enter them in this way.

 Problems with QIF file

by jmdennis on: Sep 3 2009

When I imported my QIF file it shows no items checked even though I have reconciled most of this. Both kmymoney2 and gnucash show this but your application does not.

I'm sorry but I don't understand the issue. You mean you expected all imported operations to be reconciled per default ?

Or you that you had reconciled operations in your QIF that are not reconciled after import ?

 You are right

You are right the items were reconciled before the import but nothing shows checked after importing into skrooge. In both gnucash and also kmymoney2 as I told you it shows fine in these but not skrooge.

OK, got it. Can you please open a bug report on bugs.kde.org ? I agree with you that when importing a reconciled operation, it should still be reconciled after import.

Just a clarification : what you describe here is a known bug, but has been closed in 0.5.0. What version did you use when getting this error ?
