Did you install by compiling manually by following the instructions on the website [1]?

In this case, change into the build directory you created for compilation. You should find a install_manifest.txt in this directory. This file contains the names of all files, which were installed by make install. You can remove these files by running rm $(< install_manifest.txt).

If you have deleted the build directory, re-install the older version before trying to uninstall the older version.

 Re: build error

You will need Qt 4.6 and KDE 4.4 to install synaptiks. I know, that the website still only mentioned KDE 4.3, but I simply forgot to update this part.

This is now corrected, I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

 KDE 4.3.5

by quax on: Apr 13 2010

In your response to 'build-error' you have stated that only Qt-4.6/KDE-4.4.x are supported.

That's really bad luck for all Slackware users as they won't get this combination due to the PAM/PolicyKit dependencies.

Is there any chance that you can provide a version which provides support for QT-4.5.3/KDE 4.3.5 ?

Thanks in advance and best regards,

Quax

I'm sorry, but there is no chance I can provide a release for earlier KDE releases.

I'll help anyone else, who steps up to do this (shouldn't be too difficult), but I'll not do it myself.

Nothing personal against you or Slackware, but I'm using KDE 4.4 since it has been released, and I do not have the time or the interest to support a KDE release, which I do not use anymore, for a distribution, which I've never used. :)

 dpkg-buildpackage lost ?

by newbeewan on: Apr 20 2010

Hi,

I'm currently using the previous version (0.3.2) built with dpkg-buildpackage, according to http://synaptiks.lunaryorn.de/binary_packages.html .

I just download the lastest version (0.4) and sources are no more "debianised" how can I create a debian package ?

Thanks a lot

I removed the Debian build instructions. synaptiks is now developed inside KDE svn, and distribution-specific build scripts don't fit into this repository.

You can still build a debian package by copying the debian directory from 0.3 over to 0.4 and editing the Changelog and the dependency information in control accordingly.

Ok, I will try it...

I don't know why nobody in debian seem to be interested to put it into sid or experimental (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=553043), I think, it is a very good program for day to day laptop usage !

I'd probably help, if more people commented on this bug ... but I'm no debian developer, and do not know about packaging procedures.

 Mouse monitor: feature request

by gelraen on: Apr 23 2010

Please add some way to reconnect appropriate slots to hald's dbus interface, because currently after hald gets restarted/crashed synaptiks does not change touchpad state after adding/removing usb mouse.

 No more tray icon ;-(

by pipaceliny on: May 14 2010

It is sad that synaptiks since 0.3 has no more tray icon for easy control of touch-pad :-(

You can say that there is plasma-widget but it is not the same.

I have a suggestion to You - could You add possibility to enable synaptiks plasma-widget to be visible in KDE4 system tray like some plasma-widgets of KDE4 4.4?

Thanks

The latest release already registers the synaptiks applet as system tray applet.
