Find people who can help you

Social Desktop Contest

Description:

Find and connect to people who can help you.

Usecase:
- a beginner installed kubuntu and wants someone to help him using kde
- a student wants someone to help him learning c++
- someone wants to share photos with his friends but doesn't know which website to use; he wants someone to help him

Information is scattered on the web, often it should be more convenient if users get help directly from somebody, either by IRC chat, Instant Messaging or email etc. instead of wasting time to find by himself on forums, blogs, websites etc.

People willing to help should describe their fields of knowledge or skills, and how they could be contacted.
People looking for help should be able to look for users with the best skills required to help them. Then they could choose to make contact with available "helpers".

A plasmoid could be made to easily look for "helpers".
Contacting a "helper" could be quite automatic, eg asking for help on IM could launch pidgin with the right user account already added, or launch xchat on the right IRC channel.

hi jmehdi,
sure it's a really good idea finding people who can help. but we're actually looking for code contributions. so if yo write a little plasmoid/applet doing this you can take part in the contest.
i just wanted to point this out. anyway, thank you for the idea!
best regards, JAL
